So is it true that we're only getting a day/night cycle now for the new update? And is it also true that there are no content creators anymore, so SexGameDevil is reluctant to post the update because of this?

It's been three months since 3DXChat was formally given a content update. For those of you who have been on here for more than 2 years, is that normal for development to come to a complete crawl like this?

Have recent hacks to the game's UnityScript.dll file (Which has been EXTREMELY fun to play since we have nothing official to tinker with) upset the developer, causing further delay of the supposed 2.0 release?

Or have we been playing on 2.0 since March 5th, the very last time we saw for our very own eyes, some form of improvement? Are we getting cosmetic updates now to compensate for the serious lack of content development? Have we all been beta testing out in plain sight for three months now?

Has there been a serious decline on subscription sales, is that why SexGameDevil feels the need to milk this out as long as they need to, in order to raise some form of revenue before releasing any further update?

Is the update itself now, a paywall to incentivize people to keep paying and playing?

Was I correct in predicting the release of this update, possibly now in July or August, maybe in late September now?

Does it take that long to implement a day/night cycle? For those of you who have played around with Unity, does a day/night cycle take that long to put in place in a game?

Was 3DXChat 2.0 only an April Fool's joke gone horribly wrong, or was it hidden in plain sight as an update back in March 5th of this year?

Has SexGameDevil lost interest in developing this game any further, and are actively looking to see if any other development house is willing to take over for them? Was the Insane Party a failed collaboration between SexGameDevil and Insane3D? Was there something in the works, but ultimately cancelled? Did they pull the advertisements from their Update list on both the 3DXChat and SexGameDevil websites respectively, because of this?

How many of you are fed up with the wait? Are any of you planning on waiting longer for the new update, or has your patience run out?

Mind you, these are just a few questions that have come to mind as of late, and are in no way factual truths, but you have to sit back and ponder if any of these questions are true, at least to some extent.

I commend you on your thorough analysis.

I'm still here only because I was silly enough to pay for an annual subscription at the end of last year (I missed out on the reduced sub, dammit).

The room and clothes hacks have helped maintain interest and I will probably continue until my annual sub runs out (or rl takes over) but my time is shared between here, Achat and SL.

My opinion, for what it is worth, is that the engine upgrade per se has taken far too long, could have been accomplished in just a few days and, if it eventually arrives, unless it is accompanied by a considerable amount of additional material, won't have been worth the wait.

You asking too much questions, that's the problem . sorry , but no obligation to update and no release date been mentioned. Sorry

You asking too much questions, that's the problem . sorry , but no obligation to update and no release date been mentioned. Sorry

Sure, we can sit on the side of SexGameDevil and cry out to the masses, "They have been good to us, let us praise the work of our masters! They no longer have an obligation to update, nor have to mention a release date, but they will see us through as they always have. We must have faith, for they will never fail us!"

According to your reply, and I know a certain "Professional" would agree, am I not allowed to question the authority here, constructively and with no hidden malice? Should I be a compliant drone and thank my masters for their grace by the window, in this case, a log on to the forums that signify my "developers" are alive and well?

None of these questions asked are factual truths. If certain things have risen to upset the development of the game, you can't blame those with the know how to open up the game and provide something for the masses to make them happy. The "script changers" are listening to the community and offering solutions to a stalled development infrastructure.

Think of 3DXChat being run like a convention.

In the beginning, you're eager to make the MMORPG world a better, place by providing the customer fan base what they need the most in order to enjoy your convention : an abundance of content, programming and community involvement at a reasonable price.

SexGameDevil presents 3DXChat! Tell your friends about it! We know you'll have fun here!

But then as the years start to pass, if you based your convention on volunteers but neglect to appreciate them, your convention starts to rot from the inside out.

The second year provides the same high as the first, with a few changes here and there that spice things up, but the inner workings start to sway in the wind. What was once a solid group of individuals dedicated to making the MMORPG world one to compete in, some in your organization start to question the agenda of others in the group.

Doubt begins to set in.

By the third year, the inner workings of your convention, without the strength and conviction it once had, begins to fall apart. Look at how many content creators have gone by the wayside; RodolfoValentino, Sol, DariaX, Goose and countless others that probably went unnoticed. And why are they no longer providing content, in their defense, at a volunteer's pace?

The director of the convention, in this case SexGameDevil, at that time, a pat on the back with a smile. "We thank you for your volunteer work," says SGD, "and understand that your hard work and efforts will not be in vain and will only provide the solid foundation this game needs in order to improve. One day you'll see, 3DXChat will make a name for itself and you'll be proud to have been at the ground floor."

But the volunteers are worn out; tired of having their submissions rejected OVER and OVER and OVER again simply because, and I'm paraphrasing here,"They don't meet the standards in which 3DXChat should be represented."

I'd be pissed off too, having spent all that time designing what I thought in MY mind, was great content for the community. I even had the community itself back me up at one point about the good work I was doing.

Your volunteers leave, and with it, your Artist Alley participants. You shrug it off. Life goes on.

You have one volunteer left doing the work of nine on staff. It's only a matter of time before FrenchTouchs says ,"I'm sorry, but I keep submitting my work and you keep rejecting it. Why? Is my work not as good as the others? I learned from those other content creators, I was in great company, why would you reject my work?"

Then you start to see things being taken away from the convention that made it worthwhile to attend.

HTML tags were SO MUCH fun to play around with. The community was THRIVING with storytellers and active participants in your not-so-average role play format. They had a dedicated tab that allowed people in the room access to take part in the role play, asking first for permission if they could.

This wasn't something of two or three years ago, mind you. This was back in June of last year when I first started playing the game.

As the convention begins to crumble, you pull the plug on things that, in your mind as the director talking with your staff members, the general community no longer need.

The second thing you pull away is the avatars. Sure, people will hound and complain about other users abusing the power, but you now have in place a POWEFUL ignore system that does away with that kind of abuse.

But you pull the plug anyway. You KILL your cosplay community.

Then PayPal no longer supports your customers in offering them a fast and easy way to pay for your convention. Volunteers are no longer providing you their services, and why should they? They're only volunteers. Had you taken care of them in the first year, you wouldn't be having problems today, right?

You start to put things behind a paywall to jump start generating revenue. Marriages become available, but you have to save up your casino bucks by logging in every day for a month to save up enough for one, or, you can pay $12.95 for instant XG access.

After a few weeks of implementing these ideas, you start to notice that people aren't buying into your micro-transactions as well as they do, for other conventions.

But sensing things are up and positive on the horizon, you start to advertise research and development for new ideas, things that will revitalize a stale, sloshing convention back to what it used to be. It's like advertising famous movie actors and Japanese animation voice actors attending your convention in the near future, but their contracts are still under talks. We may have them for you all, but we're not so sure yet. Stay tuned.

Your old fan base returns for a month in hopes of your words holding some truth to them. 3DXChat 2.0 is almost here, and we promise to have Robert Downing Jr., Arnold Schwarzenegger, Milo Manara, Hayao Miyazaki, the entire CLAMP studio drawing free requests for you, all this and so much more, so keep an eye out for more updates soon!

You even have an Insane Party to get things hyped up. The future looks bright again!

Then your Public DJ program takes an ugly turn. Moderators start to leave your side, for their own reasons of course, but loyalty to your convention, to YOUR brand, starts to disappear. Now your own staff is starting to leave.

Now you start to panic.

What do we do? We have no content, our volunteers are gone, music is still in access but we had more fun in Public DJ format, we only have one active moderator on staff now, people are getting restless, our funds are dwindling, we don't have enough money for server upkeep, people are hacking our game now to make it fun now, we hid the upgrade in plain sight with Patch 2.0.337, but we haven't said nothing about anything, what do we do?

The other convention didn't want to merge with us so we could be a POWERHOUSE. We're both just as old, but they cancelled on us. What did they see that we haven't? What are we going to do?

We're now at present day.

Your convention is dying. And rather than see these points at admit fault in the running of your convention, you advertise a new leap in your convention of April Fool's day; the WORST day to advertise ANYTHING worth mentioning in terms of growth for your convention, and your fan base.

Your customers start to see your convention just as you advertised it on April Fools. A big joke.

If I were the director of SexGameDevil, this is what I would do.

You issue an apology for people having waited so long for the update to unfold. You offer a little bit of XG as a way of saying, "We're sorry for making you all wait, but please, have faith that we're doing EVERYTHING we can, to make this up to you all, our customers. Here, if we can't go back on our paywall with avatars, at least have ENOUGH to make one, on us. It's our way of making amends."

Are there people asking to take over the Public DJ program? Let them do it. They have to provide their own funds for the project, but we give them full access to it, so long as they are responsible in maintaining a healthy rotation of DJ's a month. Let's give everyone in the community an opportunity to share in what they love— a love for music.

Was it illegally downloaded? Make them sign a waiver leaving us in the clear if they get in trouble. We will EDUCATE them on how to properly DJ the right way.

Make marriages free. Make avatars free. Pull the roleplay community back into your game and give them HTML tags and the Roleplay tab so that they can roleplay in public rooms without having to hide in their rooms. Let' bring back the COSPLAYERS, we need them as much as we need our convention to be a success.

How are we on subscriptions for now? Are we not getting enough revenue? Well, let's bring the price down to 12.95 a month. Six months costs 40, and a year sub is only 79.99. Sure, we'll take a hit for now, but we need the revenue. We need to attract more customers right away, and for the long haul. We need server upkeep money, we need to make sure we can stay alive until we can turn this all around.

How are we on volunteers? Are we short? Make amends and reach out to our Artists who we jaded because of our lack of foresight. Offer them something, anything—but we need them back. We need our volunteers and our Artist Alley back.

We need to make this game AMAZING again. We do that, through community involvement. We start, by telling the truth.

Maybe we just need to see this from another perspective, and there's no better way to do that, than to see it as a convention.

Maybe the problem is not asking enough questions, Briana.

Although.. Their billing system is funky..i havent paid since my first 20 bucks.. In april.. And i can still log in daily.. Shrugs..

If you paid with a credit card, you're probably on auto-renewal and you should look into that as soon as you can. There's a thread around here that shows you how to cancel your auto-renewal with this game.

I imagine that's the reason why you're able to log on since April.

Here, this is one of the threads that can help you check that out.

I absolutely agree with SamanthaSweetheart. The rate at which the devs have been putting out new content for this game is completely unacceptable, because there HASN'T been new content. A few animations here and there, sure - and don't get me wrong, they look lovely - but there are so many other things they could add that would take FAR less time to create and implement, like new wallpaper textures, shirt graphics, articles of clothing, that sort of thing. The only article of clothing the guys have gotten in like a year has been that beanie. Lol. But nothing new comes out, as if there's already this vast repertoire of objects and customization options, when there isn't. I find that incredibly frustrating, particularly BECAUSE I like this game as much as I do.

This game needs a LOT of new stuff, and it needs it soon - especially now that they've announced the release of 2.0, which, as we can all already tell, isn't going to live up to any expectations or bring anything even remotely interesting to the table. SamanthaSweetheart said it: the .dll hacks have been the most exciting addition to this game IN EVER. That really says something about the progress (or lack thereof) that the devs have made in all this time.

I'm not trying to talk trash and just say that their game sucks. It doesn't suck at all. It's actually great, and it has a lot of POTENTIAL, but that potential isn't being reached at all, and it's really unfortunate. Because if they just tried to maintain a strict schedule of adding new features more consistently, most of the critics would probably settle down.

Oh, and about the April Fool's joke: I think that's just about the biggest dick move in video game history. They KNOW how chastised they've been for not releasing new content, they KNOW how frustrated the community has been because of that, and then they announce the addition of the fighting mini-game, only to say later that it was just a joke?! LOL. "HEY GUYS, WE HAVE A REALLY COOL NEW FEATURE FOR THIS GAME COMING UP ------ PSYYYYYYCHHH! WE AIN'T DOIN' SHIT." I was astounded when I saw that they'd done that. Way to spit in the face of your entire community.

I will continue to support this game mainly because the community is solid gold. I've met some really awesome people on here, and that's what makes this game so engaging. But I really hope that 2.0 will bring the kinds of new features people have been hoping for. Otherwise, I don't understand why they don't just sell their game to a bigger developer for a ton of money, and let the bigger developer churn out new content regularly, like a professional company would.

Again, if I sound angry at all with any of this, please don't misunderstand. I'm not angry in the least. But they do deserve criticism for some of the choices they've made.

I am player of 3dxchat since 3 years and i like the game as evening pleasure , what ever.

So i want to see the game go on and improve naturally to a all interesting game with much stuff and new features.

Stuff may also mean buyable stuff, now we have this sort of minimalism , all have less and nothing new.

I want to encourage the devs to work on this nice game and put in no matter what , just do, do and do.

Perfection needs time , such as programing, all know this btw.

My best wishes to your Gizmo and Lisa

Hmm, i see it from another perspective. There are two devs, making this game and charge money for it. They making a constant money with it, not too much, but not bad for 2 person. They don't want to be super rich, neither they want to waste all their time developing. Maybe they do someting else, or just don't want to maintain a much bigger playerbase because of the complexity of it, etc.. They don't really give a fuck about some nolifer teens who can't exist without their game and cry over all of the forums all the time. They developing the game on their own pace, making it as they would like to be, and if someone pays for it, it's good, if someone rant about it, they don't care, because they have a stable and growing customer base. If i were them, i would do the same.

And change to Unity 5 was a good choice, they told it so long ago so you could expect what will come (aka long time with no updates).

If anyone seriously believed the fighting mini game was anything but a april fools joke, not sure what to tell you. wasnt a dick move at all, called a sense of humor. something that is lacking in these forums . Wizard is actually right. None of you know what circumstances are going on. maybe they have day jobs, a family etc.

As if that hasn't been done in games before? Where they offer you a platform, and then add mini-games to spice things up? Look at World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 1 and 2, any number of online games. They have tons of mini-games in them. Is it so far-fetched to think that maybe, just maybe, the devs had decided to add a simple fighting mini-game for kicks? I really don't see why that's so hard to believe.

It's not the fact that they didn't add a fighting aspect that's a dick move. It's the fact that they haven't released much of anything at all in such a long time, they know how frustrated the fans are, then they announce something cool that's coming, and then are just like "haha, nope, we're not actually making anything new. WE HAD YOU GOIN' FOR A SEC THERE, THOUGH, HUH?"

I don't care if there's a fighting aspect or not, lol. I have PS3, PS Vita, PC, Nintendo DS, I have tons of games. It's not the fact that "I'm not getting the fighting game I was promised" that irritates me. It's just kind of dickish to play a joke like that when your fans aren't happy with you. That's like a popular band going "hey guys, we haven't released a new album in 5 years, and we know how frustrated you are because of that, but we're releasing a new video tomorrow!" and then being like "yeah whatever guys, April Fool's! We might be releasing an EP of raw demos from 20 years ago next July, of stuff you've already heard a billion times, but that's about it"

If you disagree, that's fine, lol. I really don't care. This is not a big deal. Again, let me reiterate how not angry in the least I am. But they do deserve to be called out for that, it was pretty lame.

I honestly had no idea it was just two people. I haven't been playing for an exceedingly long time. Again, let me reiterate that I'm not angry at all...it's funny how as soon as someone has some criticism for a game, people immediately assume that those providing the criticism are just "angry no-life teenagers who go on forums to cry about their games." That's not a very mature way to look at it -- granted, it depends on how those players are articulating their thoughts, and some are much more boneheaded than others. But I think I've made it clear from the start that I'm not angry, and I'm not trying to talk shit. I'm just giving my two cents, in a public forum. If that's not allowed, then this isn't a forum.

I've been a gamer my whole life. I have a full-time job, I play video games a lot, I write fiction, I make music. I have a life. I just said this in another thread, too. Just because someone criticizes a game, doesn't mean they don't have a life, or are an angry teenager. And yes, I admit, maybe the joke seemed like a dick move to me because I thought the development team was more numerous. That's fine. But it just seems like new stuff comes out for this game at a snail's pace, and I feel like it could be a little more consistent - especially when people are paying a monthly sub. And that's really the main point.

I mean no disrespect to the developers or anyone else. I've said this before, I just think this game has a lot of potential, and I'd love to see it expanded on.
