We were so young!  I was 17 when we met and 20 when we married. We had some good years and it took many to end the vows.   I remember leaving the court house on the day the judge slammed his gavel and it was done.  I thought then it was the final goodbye.  But on Sunday the call came that said I had to say goodbye to you again.  I still have no regrets and I still wish you well and hope you have found your peace.

Do we make sense? I think we do
In spite of everything that we've been through
Oh when you say black and I say white
It's not about who's wrong as long as it feels right
Don't think those stars won't align

Under your scars I pray
You're like a shooting star in the rain
You're everything that feels like home to me, yeah
Under your scars, I could live inside you time after time
If you'd only let me live inside of mine
Live inside of mine

Wish you were here right beside me
So I could watch you sleep
Hold your body closer, breathe you deep
And everything feels broken when you're not next to me
Would you still be you if we weren't we?

Under your scars I pray
You're like a shooting star in the rain
You're everything that feels like home to me, yeah
Under your scars, I could live inside you time after time
If you'd only let me live inside of mine

So hey, if you feel like coming down
If you feel like coming around
Just call my name out loud, na, na, na
Hey, if you feel like coming down
If you feel like coming around
Just call my name out loud, na, na, na, yeah

Under your scars I pray
You're like a shooting star in the rain
You're everything that feels like home to me, yeah
Under your scars, I could live inside you time after time
If you'd only let me live inside of mine
Live inside of mine

Wolf Alice – Heavenward

Go heavenward

Like all Earth angels should

I'm gonna celebrate you forever

You taught us things we all should learn

Yeah, I'm gonna celebrate you forever

And long to see you when it's my turn

Go heavenward

Like all Earth angels should

Note to self. When when someone asks in conversation who’s rendition of “Phantom of the opera” is the best in your humble opinion they’ll expect someone who’s portrayed the phantom in the musical. Not a singer of a certain English rock band. (Oh, Took J to see it as a surprise date night)

My response of “Bruce Dickinson can sing it but it’s definitely Paul DiAnno’s song!” Resulted in some sarcastic “yeah yeah very funny” or “Who’s that?” or even “Iron Maiden? I hated her and the bloody tories!”

Heh, I’m such a scamp :D

Una Palliser - Mo Ghile Mear

Gaelic (Irish Gaelic)

Mo Ghile Mear
Seal da rabhas i m' mhaighdean shéimh,
's anois i' m' bhaintreach chaite thréith,
Mo chéile ag treabhadh na dtonn go tréan
De bharr na gcnoc is i n-imigéin.

curfa:-
'Sé mo laoch, mo ghile mear,
'sé mo chaesar, gile mear,
suan ná séan ní bhfuaireas fhéin
ó chuaigh i gcéin mo ghile mear.

Bímse buan ar buairt gach ló,
ag caoi go cruaidh 's ag tuar na ndeór
mar scaoileadh uaim an buachaill beó
's ná ríomhtar tuairisc uaidh, mo bhrón.

curfa

Ní labhrann cuach go suairc air neóin
is níl guth gadhair i gcoillte cnó,
ná maidín shamhraidh i gleanntaibh ceoigh
ó scaoileadh uaim an buachaill beó.

curfa

Marcach uasal uaibhreach óg,
gas gan gruaim is suairce snódh,
glac is luaimneach, luath i ngleo
ag teascadh an tslua 's ag tuargain treon.

curfa

Is cosúil é le hAonghus Óg,
le Lughaidh Mac Chéin na mbéimeann mór,
le Conchubhar cáidhmhac Náis na nós,
taoiseach aoibhinn Chraoibhe an cheoil.

curfa

Ach seinntear stair ar chlairsigh cheoil
is líontair táinte cárt ar bord
le hintinn ard gan chaim, gan cheo
chun saoghal is sláinte d' fháil dom leon.

curfa
ó luadh i gcéin mo ghile mear.

English translation

My gallant lad

Once I was a gentle maiden,
and now I'm a weak and worn-out widow,
my spouse powerfully ploughing the waves
beyond the hills and far from here.

chorus:-
My gallant lad is my hero,
He's my hero, gallant lad,
I found neither sleep nor happiness
since my gallant lad went far away.

I am incessantly unhappy every day,
grieving sorely, showing signs of tears
as the lively lad was sent away from me
and, my sorrow, no news is told of him.

chorus

No cuckoo speaks sweetly in the evening
and there is no cry of beagles in the hazel forests,
nor summer mornings in misty valleys
since the lively lad was sent away from me.

chorus

A noble proud young cavalryman,
a cheerful young man with a most pleasant appearance,
a most agile grasp, swift in battle,
cutting down hordes and crushing champions.

chorus

He is like Aonghus Óg1,
like Lughaidh Mac Chéin of the big blows2,
like Conor the venerable son of renowned Nás3,
the delightful leader of music's embellishment.

chorus

Let a story be sung on tuneful harps
and let lots of quarts be filled on the table
with high spirits faultless and unclouded
to find life and good health for my lion.

chorus
since my gallant lad was reported to be far away.

The Wildhearts - Be my drug

[flash=]

Hold me, baby, try to think of how you made me

Hold me, baby, while the world gets bored and lazy

And hold me, hold me

Tighter than I ever thought I could be

Tighter than you'd hold a memory

Time bubbling under, I will rise, I will shake

Material gain in a new lifetime to be rid of the right

When I can only sing the true nature of things

And I'll rearrange and I'll stand tall as Centrepoint

Time subtle as sunshine, I will rise, I'll abstain

With patience I gain in a new lifestyle to be rid of the rage

Then I can only sing of the power of learning

When I realise I can stand tall as Centrepoint

Be my drug, be my drug, be my drug

Hold me, baby, try to make it a little less crazy

And hold me tighter than I ever thought I could be

Tighter than you'd hold a memory

Time bubbling under, I will rise, I will train

Then I can only sing of the true nature of things

And I'll feel the pain I won't feel again

And I will rise to the other side

Where I'll stay and I'll stand tall as Centrepoint

Justice, be my drug

My dear Scott, my charming brother, with the deepest most adorable dimples....your loss is still so fresh and one that is hard for my heart to reconcile with the brother I knew.  I pray your demons are at rest now and that you rest in peace.  Know that you take my love and the love of your two other brothers and sisters with you.  Till we meet again you will be missed.
