am having  issue opening the game, on Friday it was fine, Saturday morning , there is no log on screen. Tried everything I can think of. un and re installed several times, run through and all support suggestions nothing works .  I am at a loss.  I have requested support twice Saturday and Sunday with no response yet.

you are interfering with something, uninstall all conflicting programs from your computer (especially overlays like frame stats, discord/nvidia overlays should also be disabled), when you find the program that is interfering with the game, bring back the other uninstalled applications.

I'm having the same problem. It worked Thursday but not Friday and since.  I've tried uninstalling several times and get the same result:  it says Launching Game but underneath that, it says Application exiting in (seconds countdown).  I've closed my anti-virus and any overlays to no avail.

I am having the same issue. The Launcher opens, and appears to be launching the game, but then everthing disappears. I have uninstalled and re-installed and nothing is working.

I had the same earlier today I knew 3dx had been working as I had been logged in earlier, However  I use Norton AV which I noticed had updated just earlier and since I last logged out of 3d. I tried shutting it down and didn't help, having tested other possibilities, and checked 3d was still white listed nothing helped. I uninstalled my Norton completely restarted and used Windows  default AV and fire wall. And Bingo 3dx is functioning if that helps anyone who may have Norton also.

Isabelle, that worked! Norton was the problem. THANK YOU!

YVW glad it did I'll reinstall Norton some time and see if I can find what they did that blocked, especially as turning it off should have been all that was needed and considering 3dx was listed to allow.  Plus of course we pay for Norton  LOL

I have since discovered with Norton updating from version 22 too 24 , it would appear that when 3dX updated recently no changes to exclusions that existed  were needed in version 22 of Norton.

However with Norton updating while my existing exclusions were still listed in the new version 24, it is necessary to add a new exclusion for 3DXLauncher.

uninstalling the antivirus seems like the only thing thatll solve the problem but its a pain to do it everytime you want to go into 3dxchat.

Norton problem here either, works fine as soon as I've uninstalled Norton... it started just after the upade of the AV.

I have set exclusions for the different .exe in the different folders of my directory and the problem persists.

Honestly I have really start to have enough of Norton, it's over intrusive, trying to make you use their browser and so on... And now that blocks apps you authorize...

Yeah there seems to be issues with 3DX apparently since a recent norton update.

I ended up uninstalling Avast because I got enough of it

  • considerning my own apps (I'm software dev) as potential threats due to the fact that I didn't sign my own apps.
  • whining about disk space releasable that it couldn't release ... and when I moved files from my download folder to other directories, no more space to be released, avast was just unhappy about me having files in download folder.
  • alerting me that some apps were vulnerable and facing serious security vulnerabilities ... as soon as a new version got available. Instead of just telling me that a new version of that app is available.

Antivirus make me feel like gone more problematic than the problems they're supposed to fix.

While I have managed to get 3dx working with  Norton's update, I do agree its becoming a pain,  and intrusive overall along with constant blurbs wanting me to buy additional services, despite ticking all the boxes to say stop doing so. My license expires in a couple of months, so time to remove it completely and let Windows Defender do it for free.

Could you be an angel and tell me how you managed to make it work with norton? I have set some exceptions probably not at the right place or not in a good way...

I've still 6 months of Norton's forfeit so it pisses me off a bit to have to dump it now.... :/

Jianma :)

Version 24 of Norton with  new interface I have the following exclusions in the AV section and authorisations in the fires wall hope it helps !

In    Settings /Antivirus /Exclusions.....Exclusions needed an additional new one for the launcher I have now the following :=      C\Your file....\3DXChat\game\*

C\....\3DXChat\Launcher\*........................C\....\3DXChat\3D.Ink......................C\....\3DXChat\3DXChat.exe................................C\....\3DXChat\DistrBackup\DistrBackup.7z

Also :=  Make sure in........ Settings/Fire Wall ( Intelligent)/ Program control   3DXChat ...3DXChat.exe ..... 3DxLauncher.exe     Are all  authorised

And 3dx loaded correctly  I can only suppose when 3dx last updated the previous version of Norton continued to accept the new Launcher, however the new Norton didn't so need we exclude the 3DXLauncher  and authorise it too in firewall. in addition to any existing .

where should we move the game folders to instead of the download folder?

Move it do any drive eg. C:\3DXChat and create a shortcut to your desktop or taskbar if you want.
