vladok Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I think it's time to adjust the 3dxChat Rules in the section on user behavior in the game. In particular, it is necessary to: 1 - explicitly prohibit incitement of interethnic, ethnic or interreligious hatred and any attempts to attack a user or group of users based on skin color, religion, political and sexual orientation. 2 - explicitly prohibit attacks in any way on a user or group of users in the form of trolling, provocation of scandal, bullying, insults, persecution and harassment. 3 - explicitly prohibit toxic behavior, political, national and religious attacks and discussions, attempts at political religious or other advertising or propaganda.
TashaTight Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) Personally think its better to make use of ignore options if someone is being toxic, feel like the more you police that stuff with moderation the worse it will get. Because you'll just have people ban baiting others to say something so they can get banned and abuse the system. Which will only give much more power to types like cyberbullies and crybullies. I doubt given the developer teams size you'd ever get fair moderation that isn't handled in house, which would mean allocating lots of ressources and not hiring free volunteer moderators that may essentially abuse their power or show favoritisms in their rulings. And the community should not have any legal instruments to tell these people - you are violating the Community Rules, stop immediately. Otherwise, you will be temporarily deprived of the right to communicate in the world and local chat. Right? I do not agree with such a weak-willed, spineless position. To bury your head in the sand instead of saying - stop? Moderators are not needed here - it is enough to enter an assessment of the individual's statement. And if the individual receives a "minus" of 5-10 votes from users for some statement in the world or local chat, the individual is temporarily (for example, for half an hour) deprived of the right to write in the world or local chat. I do not propose "execution" as a punishment - I propose temporarily depriving such people of the right to communicate in the world and group chat. That is, to educate these wild people outside of civilization and not to shoot these unfortunates Peggy2004 1
TashaTight Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Is ignoring same as tolerating? Voting systems? Sure that will work well with some having multiple accounts and bots, that would probably not end being abused in any shape or form. You're not going to educate anyone with temporary ban, those who typically cause problem are doing so to get a reaction. If it wasn't talking about this X trigger subject it be talking about another one, that is how trolls operate they pick a sore subject that they know get under people skins and they throw it out there. I most cases what you're suggesting wont really help, because those who are really good at it will subtle throw out the bait to get people triggered, quite often using wording they know won't get themselves in trouble. So what you may end doing is essentially getting people suspended or banned who were the target of it rather than the instigators. Will give example "I am going to see Jerusalem this year that place really rocks" That is something a baiter may say, know the political climate is really volatile in the area and the remark may spur some sensitive emotions up in others, then they may very well say nothing else and just let people get triggered while watching the fireworks happening. But if you look at the sentence itself without intention or context what is really there that break any the rules per say? Since you're essentially just talking about how much you'd like to go to a location, you said nothing national about it or said anything religious about it as such. But the pure intention may be to just weaponize a volatile situation between two groups who are in direct conflict with each other. My point is that I don't think what you're suggesting will help make the chat any better because the worst offender may very well dodge all or most of any of this, unless you have staffed moderation with skilled paid workers who have the time and ressources to discover patterns and actually cast those who instigate the drama. LaraF Posted November 20 Posted November 20 What are you complaining about? Look around the world, why should it be better here? Ignoring doesn't help much, the bullis, trolls, racists and worse don't even notice. An ignore button doesn't impress them. I give them a clear message and leave them alone in their miserable world. Then I demonstratively turn to the people who represent a pleasant society that can also have its rough edges. We, the 3dx players, shape this virtual world just as we shape our real world. Let's try not to let this world here at 3dx become like the world that i am becoming more and more ashamed of being a part of every day. Peggy2004 1
