Charles Lindbergh Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Personally I had a first generation Oculus headset with which I was able to enjoy VR on 3DXchat. As this headset is now well outdated, I use a much better quality HP Reverb 2, unfortunately not compatible with 3DXChat. I couldn't find a list of compatible headphones on the site. Is Ocuclus the only compatible headset? If so, are there plans to support other virtual reality headsets soon? Is it possible to have a list and a forecast date? Because if only the Oculus remains the only compatible headset, we cansay that the VR aspect of the game is abandoned, which would be a real shame given that a good part of the work has already been done.

You are always in 1st person view and you have a small dot in the center of your view. It acts as the mouse cursor. It means you have to look at the space where you want to go and press the one button on the controller that is enabled. And forget about chatting. You need to look at every letter, click, then look at the next letter... If you can get the chat window to open at all...
Gizmo Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Hey @FJB2BUA You might have gotten that impression, and that's okay. You are likely a new user and have yet to become entirely familiar with us. First, thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it. Secondly, here's the situation: the game has limited support for VR devices, and this is an experimental mode. Indeed, there are many areas where we can improve our project, and that's what we're working on. We are a small indie team trying to work on the project to the best of our abilities. We don't have big-pocket investors, but we strongly desire to develop this game and improve it daily. And we have a wonderful community that shares feedback with and inspires us. We accept all of this with gratitude. Regarding the roadmap, we don't want to use it just because other teams do. Instead, we prefer to announce upcoming updates on our Discord server. By the way, I invite everyone to join: https://discord.gg/3dxchat This game project is an expression of our creativity. We are indeed pleased and proud that others enjoy our project and are willing to pay for a subscription to experience the virtual world of 3DXChat. However, money is not the main thing for us. Creativity comes first. What does it mean to you to relate to the creativity of others, accepting that each person has their level of ability and development and expresses creativity in their way? nishasnow Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 I personally use VR on a meta quest 3 and it works great. I use a tool called "Controller Companion" which allows me to map keyboard shortcuts to my Xbox controller. So mouse movements are taking care of by the xbox sticks, and the controller has shortcuts for camera views and also to show hide the cursor. I find that it works very well. Gizmo 1

To exit 1st person just press F6. You can use the mouse as in normal mode to look around and I click to move to the point I am looking at. You have noticed that the UI hinders the view depending on the position in which you are. To move it, look where you want it to be and press the space bar. For chat, I put the cursor on the chat line, I tap twice on the headset to be in passthroug mode so i can use the PC keyboard. it's not very practical but it's better than aiming for the letters on the virtual keyboard. I hope it works for you.
Gizmo Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 @FJB2BUA Thank you for your feedback, and I'm glad you enjoy 3DXChat and are talking about it In your words, I sense a business approach and entrepreneurial experience. As you noted, it’s evident even in the terms we use: I talk about the game as a project, and you refer to it as a product. I definitely have something to learn from you. Do you think we need to improve VR support? Do you believe we should start with that, or focus on something else? Once again, thank you for your advice.
TonyFrx Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 (edited) Thank you Gizmo for the interest you express in our posts. Yes it's true the VR mode needs to be improved because personally I think that VR is the future of 3D games. Without going into complicated things, you would have to activate the joystick to point to the place where you want to move and also to select the letters on the virtual keyboard. The trigger would provide the click function of the left mouse button. The Joysticks will be used to turn the view from left to right and zoom in and out. These are the basic controls that we see in most VR games. Thank you for your efforts to provide us with a high quality game. Edited May 25, 2024 by TonyFrx Janu and nishasnow 2
nishasnow Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Steam has an entire section for VR titles and a lot of VR gamers. I think if 3dxchat is launched as a VR supported title, it will get a lot of new users
Janu Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 I have an oculus 2 and I want to ask why my center point disappears in full screen mode and won't come back, uncontrollable for me with VR . Where am I making mistake? Help, please

Where am I making mistake? Help, please I have a quest3 but I think it's the same for quest2. I think you are talking about full screen mode on your PC. The VR mode on the headset has its own resolution and is independent of that of the PC. So there is no need to put it in full screen on the PC to be able to enjoy VR. I hope this can help you.
Janu Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 No, what I'm talking about is that if I hide the controls, my center point disappears and never reappears and can't be moved without it
DireTeddyBear Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Steam has good VR support. I have a Valve Index and I'd love to use it with 3DX. Leopardus 1
Lҽʋιɳα Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Hi, I have a Pico 4 vr but the game does not detect it, the vr mode function remains greyed out

TonyFrx Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 I don't think the Meta Quest Link works with any headset other than the Quest. One thing to try with the Valve Index and Pico4 is to establish the PC Headset connection with Virtual Desktop. Once the connection is established, launch 3DX Chat and on the login window, press F1. If everything works well, you should see the pink button to activate VR. Let us know if it works.
