Walk through shadow at cave entrance

I have a cave and I want to put a black shadow at the cave entrance and people should be able to walk through this shadow.

Is there an option to make objects like phantom so people can walk through them?

you could use the water material and color it black. Or maybe the glowing light object will work when it's colored dark

Instead of water you can use curtains as well 
if you resize them to be just 0.001 thick they are a flat surface and you can walk through them

I believe there is a trick with the flat curtain object.

If I remember correctly you expand it the short way, and shrink it the long way to make a plane.

In the example I used the blurred glass texture and colored it black.

The transparency can be adjusted by how dark or light you make the black.
