Serenity
I was wondering does anyone know the answer to this. What determines where an object from the builder is placed when loaded from the editor? I know Items that were created and then saved are positioned where they were saved at, but what determines where like a cube or a cylinder is positioned? It would be nice to know where these things end up when loaded in the editor instead of having to, in most cases, position it near to where you are placing it. Sometimes it ends up inside of other objects which is really annoying. I have been trying to figure this out but every time it is a different place. Would be nice if there was a 3d cursor in there like in Blender, or is there something similar to it that I am not aware of? Any help on this would be awesome
Diana Prince
I think it depends on the camera position when you add the object from the editor menu.

I'm pretty sure this is it, and you just move your cam view to compensate for it.
Serenity
Thanks for the replies JenC and Diana Prince. Diana Prince, could you please explain in a little more detail on where the camera is positioned. How do I position the camera and where should it be positioned? As I stated there is no 3d cursor like in blender, so how DO YOU position the camera? Still confused here
Diana Prince
The camera in the World Editor is positioned in the same way as the F5 view in the main game. By moving the mouse to look around and right mouse button + w, a, s, d keys.
Serenity
Thank you for the reply Diana Prince. Where would be the focal point of the camera as there is no dot or obvious markings designating the focal point. Sorry for all the silly questions, I am just trying to resolve this as it makes me crazy sometimes building. I really appreciate your input on this, you have been helpful. Diana Prince
uhm, I think you just have to "look" at the general spot where the new object should be created. Then move it to the exact position you want it to be. In most cases you will move / resize / roate / stretch the new object anyway.
