Possibilities of using gold and other options

Not sure I see why a problem with those industrious enough to accumulate gold and sell it for less is problematic. It is a common practice in some of the older worlds and has not been a problem in the least for nearly a decade.

I'm curious as to why you think this is problemtic?

I personally find this topic fascinating. I hear so much Doom and gloom but no valid arguements to support that.

It's a problem because I believe that is at least one of the reasons Gizmo won't do it. Personally I couldn't care less if people did it, but I believe Gizmo does.

You could be right about things. If Gizmo listened to the Doomsayers about WE this game wouldn't have grown and evolved.

 I also suspect if Xgold transfer occured in Unity 4 it broke in the upgrade to Unity 5 and would require some type of fix. Many things broke in anything built in Unity 4 upgraded to 5.

Obviously I am speculating, but it is based on what many of us have seen elsewhere happen during that engine upgrade.

This idea is worth implanting or at least give a trial period before some negative thinkers discourage Dev. Dev. must try some of these new ideas instead of always get scared. many people love to transfer gold beside what's the point of all those gold except buying worthless gifts or gallary. Game seriously need a way to spend gold coins but again all this is fantasy untill they get proper team for game who could listen and try new ideas but chances are rare.

You don't have to be Einstein to figure, that if it is possible to get paid for whatever, people will sooner or later demand to get paid for whatever. Probably sooner! As if that could not be seen each and everywhere. I mean, it is already now, that some try to sell their rooms and I've seen prices from 5$ up to 25$.

Though there's the possibility of being wrong my prognosis is:

  • It will change the way, that it will become hard to find a DJ, dance group or anyone offerring a service not demanding a fee.
  • Rooms, items or roomparts for free download will drop significantly in ammount and quality as well.
  • Prostitution will rocket sky high and instead like now just offering service, they will start to hunt you down, if there's something of real value to gain. Don't believe? Ask anyone who had been to AC once.

If you establish microeconomy, you will of course face all drawbacks which come with microeconomy too. Are you really convinced, there are none? Seriously?

There will be no escape. And I suppose it will look like, as if someone would open Pandora's box.

Some like to play Monopoly, some do not. I don't, Monopoly is so utterly boring.

We have to be honest, people selling rooms didnt kill the free market so far. I believe some people will be willing to pay for a room and some wont and I believe some people will want to sell things at a price that isnt not realistic.

I mean, I saw some amazing rooms at low price and some some less amazing much higher.

My real worry would be that everything in game get a price, if things stay marginal, like it is now for rooms, why not.

When they introduced the patreon thing, I personally found it stupid because it was an external website and you could only tip the host which was kinda unfair. I proposed a that time to have a donate button on profile because it was making more sense than in a room for me. They added the "buy xgold to a someone" option but it is still asking you to pay with real money while you might have pilled 10k gold already on your avi. 

I think it all depends how it will become if you can pay peeps in game. If it like something not general, I am ok with it.

Also as per today regarding rooms, you can sell a room but you have no guarantee then that your room wont be shared with others, so illegal copies are possible so to say.

So yes I am not very positive about the idea, but maybe they can find a way to make it work and maybe the community wont turn as bad as we might think :)

yes selection in the game that would sell the object built in xgold gift or money that would be specific to the seller. which does not necessarily require the release of the credit card to acquire a following item are selling price. the creation and acquisition files must be separated to avoid duplication.

the problem is that it remains a simple profit and personal profit not giving access to the whole community. the only way is to create a permanent sales hotel to allow all those wishing to personalize a room to benefit from the many objects served.

Again, my opinion is that direct gold transfer (since is basically real money) would ony cause a huge spiral of corruption and greed, we will see players just using one of their avi as fucktoy to collect gold they could spend on other people's fucktoy avis... just like what happened to AChat for example and now on there you will not see more than 200 people online at best. A dead game. 

Why not work on an escort mechanic instead that could prevent this, lets analyse the situation, from what I see escort like to accumulate gifts. Why not implementing an option to add in the profile an Escort section with a client counter, a section for rates and one for client reviews (stars)?  (The client pays the rate and the Escort gets a +1 counter )In this way escorts still RP as so enjoying the "transaction" without actually having a direct gold transfer. 
Mine is just a quick sketchy idea.

I really don't want to see this game turning into SL2.0

3dxchat would not become as an AChat just because of gold transfer. Because in Achat you can buy anything you want for this gold - poses, clothes, premium. In 3dxchat only gallery slots, gifts and services. Not saying that gold transfer is a good thing, but just gold transfer alone is not enough to make this place into a disgusting shithole like Achat.

Funny enough, Monopoly is taken by any book of gmae design as an example of bad game design for its runaway leader problem ( a lucky player overpowering the others easily and quick)

If A exists, B cannot.

None of your counter points would be effected by XGold transfer. This is proven in the other old worlds were people do all the things still you pointed out. People still "dance." They still "e-fuck," and they still have fun and the transfer of things of value has no negative effect on those things whatsoever.

you got very valid point here. Buying xgold coins to someone with real money make sense for dev to make money but players doesn't get more than 2 option to spend them on something. buying room with xgold coins wouldn't make sense for builder i mean they can get tons amount of xgold coins but where would they spend to ? game seriously need to reset almost everything.

I agree. common on we could at least try this new idea for sometime. it's not necessary means that what happen with Achat would happen with 3dx. game really need new idea. gold transfer could change this. i think this is biggest problem of this game is that people like him ruining it that's why we only have limited inventory instead of market place. it's not bad to have small market for girls to buy new lipstick, nails, earrings and other small stuff. boys could buy condoms with xgold coins. price could be decide by dev eg...could not be charge more that certain amount for specific item.

The scripting wouldn't take much work to add it and very likely as it is mainly scripting to access the database would not have been effected by the change to Unity 5. 

It was there for only one day in 2014, well before the change to Unity 5.

It was taken away mainly because of some people that had some pull with Gizmo bitching about the sudden rise in the number of prostitutes. My opinion is it wasn't given enough time to see that rise in numbers of prostitution will have died down.

I don't doubt you about the reasons it was removed. I wasn't here at that time and that sounds like something that could occur here.

You may also be right about the scripting, but I can tell you I saw how a similar system - in the Curio project update from Unity 4 to 5 break for weeks if not months. (It's also possible that wasn't a a priority compared to all the other things that broke).

However, if the ability was already here, they certainly wouldn't have to start from scratch. The thing that concearns me is the security against abuse. These OFFGANG asshats seem to be able to modify some things for their own agenda.  Is the system of transfer secure?

the worse thing about xgold transfert is that ppl can be on 3DXCHAT whitout give any money to the dev , except for the first subscription with few simple step.

create multiple account > convince people to register on 3dx ( and yes it's not hard expecialy somewhere else actually where sex become more difficulte to do whitout stuff or hard to get them ) > getting the multiple account sub > getting 9000 or 9300 xgold per month. 

for exemple: 6 dumb account it's 54K-55K8 xgold free per month. it's also 2100x6 12K6 a week. literraly you can do 2-3 room opening on your own whitout need any help from friend. adding xgold transfert will just bring 1) illegality ( selling xgold ) 2) loose of money for gizmo & lisa ( infinite loop for xgold, this trick already work just getting more simple with the fact ppl will can transfert on main account ). 3) even more escorting ( will not discuss about escorting , but ppl know what it mean ).

there is too much cons than pros of xgold transfert for dev, of course for us it's insane but not viable for gizmo & lisa. alreadythey probably loose some money with referral 2.0 & -50% but with the new referral there is mroe ppl on 3DX as it counter the fact sub cost a lot. saiying to ppl you try to convainc to sub that he can get free sub if he manage to make ppl to sub they are less reluctant to sub because they could just buy 1 month and make 3 people to sub & been able to test 3DX for 3-4 month.

if they add xgold transfert then need remove free sub from referral.But, this referral 2.0 was probably the best thing to do with the referral program. I am personally against adding a transfer possibility, will bring more trouble than good.

I haven't been in the game for a long time so I haven't witnessed any of the hacks myself, from what I have read in here it seems they are sending altered strings to have peoples avis do actions only. What I mean by that is there is a difference between how the game sends and receives different commands. Single avi actions are commands that do things like dance moves, walk and such, and there is even a difference between single avi actions and paired poses like sex. When it comes to actions like changing clothes or editing rooms those actions involve commands sent that edit things in the server. I am not sure if it is still the same but single action commands were sent out to each player in a scene from the scene owners computer, not the server. The way Unity works is it places some of the game load on peoples computers who open a scene in Unity. If you open your room you open a new scene in Unity. So you, your computer,  as the scene owner will send certain information to all who are in your room about what goes on in there. I believe single action commands are done that way as they do not involve changing information in the server. 

So the question is, have any of these hacks shown things that involve changes in the server, such as changing clothes so the next time a player logs in they have different clothes to the last time they played. Or has anyones room changed, or profile changes and such.

From what I have read they seem to be only single actions in these hacks which is likely done by people who have opened the rooms where these hacks have happened. It would be a much different thing if peoples rooms started changing or the clothes they had on the last time they played are changed the next time they logged in. They would involve things that change information in the main server.

why we have to be such academic ppl?

let's make this more simple to understand: this is  what will happened when we have market and gold transfer

 

Devs→ sell the game to all players→ players earn/buy xgolds→ devs earns real money

                                                                                                ↓

                            player's level(from hard to easy, And their contribution to the game)

                                                                                                ↓

                 major creators/modders: create furniture objects, body parts, clothes and poses and sell to players*

                 Room and furniture/objects(create by building objects+poses) creator: create rooms, and sell/giveout them

                DJ/dancer/club owner: entertain all other players by their music**

                normal player: just like us, enjoying the service created by players above, some of players may escort to earn money***

    -----------------------------------------base line--------------------------------------------

                gold/game time sellers: talented, but annoying players who want earn some real money****

                spammers: most useless creature in the game, who sucks the game dry for their own good

*some of them don't have good skills on creating/creates low quality items, this might be why gizmo still not opened a market for players

**as far as I know, not every DJ is good at making the room "interesting to play", some room are nice, but contains no entertainments but music mix 

***as I know, some ppl in that server you know really did using escorts to make money, and it not really hurt ppl's feeling...... but I'm not sure either

****or sometimes they require a sex/relationship for the golds, but either way, they're annoying

 

it's not hard to see that whatever we do above the baseline, it is good for game. as long as someone is creating new things, and everyone report those players out of the baseline... so the problem of using xgolds for some other things is only "what can we do to limit those gold/game time sellers and spammers"

That's interesting stuff.

I must admit a certain fascination with backend systems of these VR worlds and how they can set the tone for the experience their customer has and how the customizable clothes Gizmo alluded too will work. 

*If* the ability to create unique clothing customizations that Gizmo alluded to and believes is worth keeping under wraps I tend to believe him.  Anything like the WE In clothing making will be HUGELY impactful.  It would be very cutting edge and as impactful as the WE was. Rember the Doomsayers who claimed it would ruin 3DX?

 And yes, I firmly believe XGold transfer - especially if a system that already existed and didn't need to be scratch made, would be reintroduced it may draw in at least hundreds or more. Those who don't like it are under no obligation to use it and can continue on as things are - but they won't.
