A second on top

What I really hate about current room system is that regular users' interest is on the last place.

Devs? Sure, they having money from promoting battles.

Room hosts? Well, the one with unpopular rooms have a chance to get on top and get their room shown to people if they will keep it open long enough.

But what about me, a regular player? When my friend/lover/RP partner telling me "Let's meet in a ROOMNAME room" I need to search a whole list to find where the fuck is ROOMNAME in this list. When I just want to find some room I regularly visit – I again need to search through the whole list, while with old system I just knew how much people usually in that room and could find it much much faster using this info. I have NO, absolutely ZERO tools to find a room I like. I cant make a list of favorite rooms. I cant type room name in some search window. I cant make publicly open rooms of my friends to be on top of list. Nothing of it. Well, never could. But now I cant even make a search easier by knowing approximate number of players in the room and by this finding it faster. Or ask a friend who invites me to some room how much people in it so I can find it faster. No! Every damn time I need to search through the whole list.

We are mostly talking here about how unfair or fair or whatever current system for room hosts, we talking about money income of devs, but how about regular players? How about like... 98% of the playerbase and usability of the game for a regular player?

Well said.
We need Quality of Life options. Period.

That said, some quality of life improvements in the Room List like a sorting menu would be nice. Just saying.

I didn't say anything about sorting of room lists, did I?

And regarding rooms: to each their own, yes. But I have no understanding for people who open their room for 5 hours, have no success and then complain about others who push their room and demanding changes of the system.

If you want to have a successful location (whatever successful location means in your world), then 5 hours of just waiting is not enough. That is all I said.

Not disagreeing with you here, reckon I misread your statement about the whole discussion being pointless as having included all points made, which included the talk about Sorting options. My bad.

You are right on the time spent too.
In 3DX a blowjob takes about half that time if done properly.
5 hours is nothing.
5 days, that is grounds for mild complaining.
5 weeks, now we're talking.

So perhaps making the room list easy for the regular user to find what they are look for, and scrap whatever is currently in place for the room list.  Take your Virtual Sugar events, Kemistry.  Love the creative work being put into developing a venue, promoting the event etc. The user list should be such that when I come to attend, I can get to it easy-peasy.  I would hope the average user is smarter than blindly clicking into what is at the top of room list.  I know the people I am hanging with are, if not me necessarily on a daily basis 🙃.

It is a legit complaint, but i understand why you like things to stay as they are, since it works for you, so who cares.

As for you thinking that i said in my other post that 5 hours should be enough to succeed, well i honestly don`t care what you think, so back on the ignore list with you.

No, it doesn't work for me. The current system of pushing locations sucks and the location list sucks too. But it is not unfair... it is kinda fast changing market where the price for being top in list changes very fast and is not really predictable. This is not so uncommon and your comparision with milk is just not correct. But anyway the system itself sucks. And I would prefer another one, too.

But you wouldn't have posted a lot of screenshots showing your empty room because you wanted to speak about unfairness of "pushing system". For me it was reading as if you wanted to complain about your empty room first and foremost and blame the pushing system or other location owner for that. And that was my answer about. I think your problem is not the "pushing system". There seems to be another reasons why people don't want to stay. In your room. With you.

And instead of putting me on iggy because of my two promotional posts a week you should listen to me. But you do not listen. Take that as a hint why people possibly don't want to stay. In your room. With you.

It's insane to me that this subject even warrants such a drawn-out discussion.... Put this shit into perspective, guys.

Why is it insane?

It’s a simple discussion about a feature in a ‘game’ people like?

Welcome to the Internet, you must be new here.

Still in my eyes the current system is better than old one, if only for the fact that now you descend the list slowly instead of getting dropped down into oblivion after getting out boosted.
It's better for low number rooms, new unknown hosts and the "hidden gems"... Worse for high popularity rooms who are used to staying at the top of the list  based on numbers.

However, for the majority of the actual 3dx population, i.e the ones who are not into hosting and just want to find a certain room, surely some quality of life improvements are needed.

Here are my suggestions, which I am sure all or most of have been suggested already.

- Slider for a sort by preference lists. And in interest of keeping the power of room boosting relevant, we can have the top 5 rooms be always the last 5 boosted rooms no matter what sorting the player chooses.
- Rooms opened by friend getting color coded.
- Rooms who have friends in them getting color coded.
- Ability to favorite a host and have their opened rooms color coded.
- A search by host/room name function.
(by color code I don't mean entire name colored please, just maybe a circle next to the room name with the color)

Also please, make it so that rooms with zero people get closed no matter if host is online or not, will surely shorten the list and make scrolling down easier.

I have two suggestion to fix many problems people have in 3DXChat at the moment...

  1. Stop talking & Advertising in Worldchat
  2. Stop caring if your room is on top or not

I explain why thoose two suggestions are great.

First of all the games worldchat is a magnet for trolls and drama llamas that will roast you and your room, and maybe your friends to. Reasoning or arguing with them is like spilling gasoline into a fire. Also advertising your room there in any fashion gets you banned currently. So not talking in Worldchat is great!

Why you should stop caring if your room is on top is simple. Top Rooms rely on ass-kissing and topping up unreasonable amounts of xGold. Wich is at one side a very good thing, as it keeps the light on. The more money people shove into this game, the longer it runs probably. But noone knows.

What does a room on top of the list tell us? Nothing!

All you know that you might stumble into a horrible and very basic out of scale craptastomatic build, that someone made who has either a shit-ton of alt-accounts to fill the room, or is someone who is chief of some bully-group that is able to torment alot of people into support. The 3rd option is the mentioned above ass-kissing method. Its my all time favourite.

Its never about how good your room is, or how many talents you have in there and if the atmosphere is decent. Its about who has the bigger xGold Bank, more alt-accounts and on top of all, the better ass-kissing skills then yourself. Thats what it is about.

What to do, what to do... hmmmm oh yeah! Stop caring!

From my experience you dont find the decent and enjoyable rooms on top all the time. Its mostly the less crowded, not uber-fancy messlettername rooms that lurk somewhere between Line 9 and 18 before all the 0 User Clutter comes. Its an advise I d like to give to anyone.

Dont be the sheep the goes where the other sheeps are. Be the rabbit or fox that goes wherever they want to. You ll find the decent rooms and gems noone knows about.

Quote

"But all my friends are in the GenericPartyTemple Room."

Well then all your friends are literally sheeps. Lure some out of the generic boring party temples and actually enjoy and support some of the more decent rooms. Whats the point of staying in a room with all of your friends and noone really enjoys it, but they are there to support the ass-kisser in charge.

This all might sound so surreal and made up. But in all my years here, its exactly what I have seen with many different people, many different groups. And its always the same, as it is always the same discussion of why always the same rooms are always on top!

Break the viscous circle. Start today by stopping to care whats on top!

There are other threads to peruse if you want to read the true definition of insane.  Or tune into my country's presidential debate tonight. 🙂

I think this thread is highlighting the frustration of the current room list display, from a variety of perspectives.

From the last election... :D

Okay, back on topic.

Whatever is used it needs to be fair for everyone. I didn’t think it was (past tense as I’m an ex subscriber well on his way through the 3DX AA twelve steps 😁)

I don’t detract from any of the groups who indeed put a lot of hard work and passion into what they do. It can and has on occasion taken some of the fun away from the game but that’s just my, an ex subscriber’s opinion.

It feels a little daunting for anyone wanting to set up as a host though, particularly independently of the groups. If you like a small bar feel then great! It just felt like you had to compete a heck of a lot.

Filtering would be awesome, friends rooms and favourite rooms listings too.

Will it happen? Who knows.

Thanks for your input!  Curious though.  If you are an ex-subscriber, why do you care?

The game frustrates me some times, but I people here I have a blast being around.  I am not ready to take the cure.

Unfortunately you forgot #4
#4 is a well designed and build location (party temple don't have to win architecture awards.... although some would) run by someone or a group who really loves to organise big parties on a nearly professional level with greeters, dancers, awesome DJs with mixing skills or at least the ability to react on their audience and an electrifying athmosphere. And these rooms need a big crowd and they usually have a big crowd because most of the visitors want to have exactly that: a BIG party with lots of different people.

Or let me tell you an example for a #5:
We organize a 3dx Porn Cinema Party every month and we try to drag as many people as possible into the location to get them on the movie stream so the 6-8 producers who spend a lot of work into their movies have a bigger audience as they usually have.

And now that I am writing I can think of #6, #7, #8 and a lot more. I agree to some of your conclusions, but calling so many people or groups bullies or multiboxer or ass-kisser is just bullshit and very very rude. To be honest, I read a lot of envy and jealousy in your top-room-bashing.
