Are we? And why do we need it?

Just to get a new content? Well, we can get it without xgold component. It's the same amount of work for developers to make content that will cost xgold or to make content that will be avalivable for everyone. Actually it may be even less work to make it avalivable for everyone because they will not need to code a payment part.

I heard some "arguement" from the people who are into microtransactions that "devs must be paid for their job!". Can't disagree with it! But the point is... devs already are paid for their job. It's p2p game.

So who are these "we" who need more content for Xgold and why do they need it?
I think I have some idea. These "we" are people who want to feel priveleged, to feel that they are better than all that plebs around.

Right now, the only way to make yourself into someone special and renown is contributing to community. Creating clothes, rooms, poses, being good room or party host, DJ. And it's fair. But people want to feel themselves special and priveleged in an easy way, having some features, clothes, accessories that others don't have, just because they bought some Xgold or were  playing long enough, or simply were prostituting.

And now tell me, in the game where we still lack so much clothes, especially men, but women as well. Where we still have only a very few set of tattoos. Where we still don't have any piercings. Have very poor amount of BDSM content. Still don't have such a basic thing like limp/hard cocks slider/tumbler... In such a conditions, instead of working on content for every paying customer, yes we all here are paying customers, not only the ones who pay for xgold, so in such a conditions devs should instead work on some Xgold based content only for people who can afford it so they could feel themselves priveleged? I don't think so.

This thread is nothing to do about getting xgold by prostituting in order to buy stuff.  I merely asked why we cannot transfer xgold and said it would be a better "payment" instead of gifts for "prostitute and client" fantasy role-plays.

I answered on exact post I quoted.

Yes, I know it.  I meant to clarify for everyone and should have made a post without quoting you.  You did, however, mention prostituting for xgold which includes the topic of the OP.

There are 3 types of wealth transfer that could occur between game characters.

  • In-game gold (can't be purchased with RL money)
  • XGold (can be purchased)
  • Redeemable gold (can be purchased or sold back to devs)

A certain old sandbox game is famous for the third type, and I think it's an intriguing idea, but I think with such a small dev team, the trust level isn't high enough to provide means of transfer back to the players (personal account info). I think it could make sense to make XGold transferrable and redeemable for subscription time, but there could be issues with begging, scamming, etc.

I was baffled to find that XGold isn't really used for much. As far as I can tell, it's only for drinks, gifts, character slots, and advertisements. But I don't think that's a problem. Gifts are a good enough way to facilitate prostitution. Wealth isn't always used for spending anyway. In much of the world, it's a status symbol once you surpass what you need.

I do think applying an intoxication effect on a timer would be a good way to make drinks more interesting. Add a blur/distortion filter that scales with sips taken, add some procedural chaos to dance animations. And create more objects that are pay-per-use, especially BDSM rigs, but also things like teleporters, elevators, escalators, and doors. Also dice and coins. Moving lights. Fog machines. Vehicles. Make all of these cost 35-350 XGold for a single use. Except doors, doors could be free. As it stands I'd never buy additional XGold, which does seem like a missed opportunity.

You may be surprised but it's actually seen as good thing by a lot of people here.

Or create these things without making them pay per use. I really don't understand why would I need to pay for using, for example, an elevator. In already p2p game.

Btw we already have doors, they just removed them from world editor for some weird reason, but in some older builds you can find a door prop and even copy it to your place. And we used to have dices back then when user mods were a thing. Would love dices to come back. Without any xgold for use.

A missed opportunity indeed to not milk players' credit cards with micro transactions. But again – this is one of the things that attract people here and seen by many as one of this game's pros.

Do you know the reason? I just noticed that they removed them.

No, I don't.

The only logical reason I could think of is that they thought it wasn't working properly and gave up on this object. Because if they just wanted to improve it, I think they would have let it be, and update it when it's ready. A mistake seems unlikely too, because I guess they would have made a quick fix to put it back, especially with the official building contest going on.
But that's just my guess. I hope they'll give us a statement on the matter.

No real world prostitute works for gifts.  They work for money.  Granted, there is no real prostitution in the game, but more realism in role-plays is always better than less realism.  Xgold is the in-game "money", so that should be what a role-play prostitute accepts as payment, or, the Developers should give us an additional form of in-game "money" which cannot be used for anything except role-plays.

Not really. "More realism" is just your preference. Guys with 12 inch cocks cumming gallons, girls with watermelon sized tits together with a tiny waist, futas with horsecocks, orcs, demons, vampires, tentacle monsters... doubt that they would agree with you about realism. I remember few people going straight to anal sex without RPing any act of lubrication, not even saliva, and then being surprised that I am not playing like I am happy about it. In their book I should have been moaning in pleasure and enjoying myself. Thinking about lube in RP seems to be too deep for them lol. Some people even think that casually shove fist in someone's ass without any stretching, warming up or even lubing up before should be pretty much alright. So yeah... Even aside of fantasy stuff like vampires and horsedicked futas, not everyone here into realistic RP. Some just simply don't care, others just have no sexual experience aside of porn and hentai.

I would not expect developers doing anything for hookers. Prostitution, at least with any game or real currency involved, is currently against game rules.

In response to Xizl...

Yes, it's my preference.  I should have stated that.  I prefer to role-play it all as realistic as possible.

I doubt it also, but thought I would try to get them to change their minds about it.

Microtransactions can benefit a game when done well. The reason single activation features would require gold is that they probably took time to code and are otherwise superfluous bells and whistles. It's a thank you to the devs for adding flair to the game. The day-to-day fees for using useful things like elevators could just be a gold sink that helps drain people's overflowing pockets and incentivizes them to actually purchase gold instead of just waiting for logins.

I think the ability to add lights, lasers, pyrotechnics, and other fancy props for a club would be worth $20 of XGold for some people.

This sort of thing could be the difference between hiring an additional programmer or artist, and not.

If it is superfluous bells and whistles then devs indeed better spend their time on some more necessary stuff.

And about paying devs for their work – we already doing it by paying for subscription.

Okay, okay, I get it. You need your ways to get your endorphins by spending money on cool stuff and justify your consumer behavior by being proud that you are supporting the game. But again, there are tons of people here for who one of the reasons they came to this game was a fair p2p system where users are not getting milked with microtransactions.

Sure. You know what else could make the difference between an additional programmer or artist? Increased subscription numbers they had in last 3 months because of quarantine. And just in general improving the game, attracting more new players and making more old ones stay. But well... Seems like their server software can't take it so far, unlucky.

They give us 300 xgold for each day we log in.  It is 10,000 xgold to marry... 5,000 xgold to divorce... 10,000 xgold to create a new alt... 20,000 xgold to change name or gender... 300 xgold to put your room in first place on the rooms list... and they sell xgold on the 3DXChat website.  The Dev's obviously want plenty of our money.  So why not let players transfer xgold?  Then some clients would buy xgold (as they need more) to pay prostitutes for cyber-sexual fun.  The Dev's are denying themselves some money.  Sure, most people will not pay for cyber-sex, but some will.

Because there is no purpose. Most people on this site are having sex and some are paying prostitutes with gifts bought with gold that is sometimes purchased. So game is already benefiting.

Receiving gold has very little benefit to someone's gameplay. So until there is something for the recipient to spend it on, there's no point in making it transferrable. For example, I'd love to pay the employees of my club. But for what? Nothing costs anything. Currency has no value. Prostitutes with 1000 gifts in their profiles are hoarding the gifts for status. And that wouldn't change with gold, except that your personal XGold isn't displayed in your profile.

There are things to spend Xgold on, but not many.  We do need more things to spend it on, because it makes no sense to have an in-game currency with very little to spend it on and no transferability.  As for receiving xgold, I'd bet far more xgold is purchased from the 3DXChat website by room owners to keep upping their rooms, and players who keep changing their names (some do frequently) than is given out for logging in daily.

Paying the employees at your club sounds like a good idea.  I support that.  It would require transferability.

I must be the only prostitute not interested in status then.  I never seek gifts, do not want gifts, and always delete gifts I receive.  It's not about status for me.  It's simply about being paid with in-game money (even with nothing to ever spend it on) instead of with gifts.  Prostitutes do not accept gifts as payment in real life, and I like to keep role-plays as realistic as possible.  I'm sure all the status-seeking ones would still want gifts for payment so they can have a false sense of being popular and worthy.  It's not for me tho.

I know plenty of prostitutes roleplaying without actually asking anything. Because they think that they don't need to actually milk the player behind the screen from his money. Just playing a prostitute in the game, and not asking something that influence on RL, making them some sort of RL cyber prostitutes.

A lot of hard rplayers as myself would argue that it's up to the player to make it realistic, not tools or currency.

I know a few who have their apartments paid for. Another who drives around in an amazing car. So I would argue with you but they are in the minority but some do, in reality, take gifts. I am told many also will take drugs as a gift of payment. They barter.

I've turned away several who wanted to be financially dominated at another site (where Working was implemented in-world). I imagine there are men with the same interest in 3DX, too.

TL;DR I know it's technically not the same, but it's also not a judgment I'd trust others to make, ie. admin, jury, public, or peers. /TL;DR

There may be international laws prohibiting it. IDK where 3DX is based, though that's subject to interpretation if, for example, you're an American company and your servers are on some Pacific island.

I'm still waiting to see a company claim they're based virtually in an online world and not subject to international laws. As crazy as that may sound there are judges who would buy into that, but that's another topic altogether.

I don't think so. You can't make a company 100% online. There will always be a country involved. Where your bank is, where your server is, where your company address is.

If a company is using crypto currency and online bank to be 100% independent from the country they are in, it makes it an illegal business, because to my knowledge, a company earning money on a state soil has to pay income taxes, in any country of the world.

100% for this. Would add a new dynamic to the game.
