  1. I was told that larger room file sizes can contribute to lad really bad. I have a room thats like 3.8 meg and was told that was already BIG. Was told there are probably a lot of duplicate props that never got deleted. there were a few but not many. I deleted a bunch of stuff. Really didn't affect it much. WHAT takes up the biggest chunk of file size and how can I find out except trial and error? Candle flames? The room has a LOT of the light bulb props. Where should I start to cut the file size? What file size should I aim for? It should be smaller than ...????? Thanks
  2. So, as of recently, whenever I enter a room that's got more than 50 people in it(no matter the room's size or anything), the game decides to basically die, letting me only be able to move around the room. The other people are just standing there, the chats and PMs don't load, the player created rooms don't load, and if I try changing a room, I get the infinite loading screen. I've tried almost everything, from updating my GPU driver, setting everything in-game on Low(and a min resolution), to reinstalling the game completely, but to no success. Please, help would be very much appreciated.
  3. Hey there dear builders! As a fellow builder I'd like to open this thread to collect some information on building efficiently. That means, like everyone knows, that rooms will take longer to load and are starting to lag under certain circumstances. I'd like to collect tips for everyone who plans big projects, in order to still have everyone running the room smoothly and prevent crashes and lags. I'll start off with things that will cause trouble when building: • The larger the .world - file, the longer it takes to load and might cause crashes when joining a room. • .world - files are bloated easily when using many small objects at the same place, together with lights. The light will be rendered for every single object. • Overusing lightsources will cause lag and increased filesize (needs more testing) • Overusing animated objects will cause lag and increased filesize (trees, fire, steam, smoke, etc.) • many people in the same world will cause lag • poorly attached metal-surfaces will catch light and endlessly reflect it between gaps, creating rendering errors. You will notice those as white flickers on your screen. This is all I can currently think of. If you have any tips to prevent those points I (and probably many other people) would be really glad! I know that the Unity engine isn't coded perfectly. Maybe there will be some improvements soon. My room for example is already laggy for quite a few people. But i don't want to lose any quality there. Things I've done so far: • Use Chloe's Tool to remove duplicated objects (Thank you so much Chloe! 4500 Dupes removed, 260 kB less roomsize! <3 ) • Reduced resolution • remodeled structures to reduce the number of used objects However, let's see if someone can help us out! Yours Llavia! ^-^/
  4. Hi there. Today something weird happened while chatting with a player of my list. Of course I didn't block/ignore by accident, but anyway we weren't able to read each other using the chat (local and private one). I tried to invite to my place, to use emote, to add as partner, etc..nothing worked and no pop-ups of "Request sent". In the end we've been forced to use gifts to communicate and suggest to restart the game. And later I got the confirmation about my pms, written but never arrived/sent. Is that a common issue, or perhaps could it depend on the internet connection of the other player ? Mine works without problems, so no clues about what happened during those 20-30 minutes of silence. Thanks
