  1. Here we go again.. Troll gif followed by pithy quip, accompanied by explanation of how everyone should stop bumping the thread, concluded by message to other troll who isn't in the thread yet about something unrelated, or possibly poking fun at op by calling the thread pointless and predicting future thread deletion because of the controversiality and pointlessness.
  2. It's not html but made to look like it.. https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/StyledText.html Also, you have to get the tag nesting right.. This would fail: <size=30><b>Hi!</size></b> This would work: <b><size=30>Hi!</size></b> Also, with sizes, the profile won't let you use bigger than 100 or smaller than 10. With gift text it is between 1 - 500 I think.
  3. The thing I love most about 3dx is that it is a very good thing to do that if you want to play some of the team stuff you can just do what you want and deserve but I can't reach out to you for making it so much baby.

Thanks Jess. Yeah I found the website. I was wondering if that was still going and I'm glad to see it is. I am interested for sure. I will try Sansar also and I believe you that it is amazing, especially with VR. Maybe I will get a VR headset sooner than I thought. I do have a 1060 OC so I guess it might work on my existing stuff. Will Sansar have music streaming, dancing, cuddling? And what is that video stuff they have like in the videos with the movie theater thing I have seen? Is it at all like Rabb.it? And are you always locked into first person or can you use third person if you aren't in VR? I still think gizmo could make something more mainstream out of what they have already built here for 3dx so far, and I think it could make them some extra money. Maybe a lot. I would hope that it might make them finally hire more people. If they put it on Steam I don't think they would really even need to advertise.

The game I want does not exist yet. I have been looking a lot. 3dx is actually still the closest thing. There is also no proof that putting something like I suggested here on Steam would not be profitable.

DaddysGirl is talking about Sansar I'm pretty sure, she just can't see my posts. I think anyway, as far as the sequel to Second Life. I'll be interested to see the other thing "without limits" too, although I'm sure it will be another niche pornographic type thing. I'm not saying it won't be good, but I do think the audience will again be limited if that's the case.

Jess, everything I've read about trying to play Sansar without VR sounds like it's.. not good. I'm sure I will get a VR headset someday soon, but not everything needs to be VR. There's a much bigger market for non VR still, and I'm not sure it will ever be ALL VR. VR sort of locks you into first person doesn't it? Does Sansar have cuddle poses and dance animations? It has music streaming, right? I saw a video with a movie theater playing video.. How does that work? Is it like Rabb.it at all? I'm asking bc I'm genuinely curious and I can't find a lot of info. Maybe I will try it.

The Sims is single player though! Plus it's just way different. There isn't any cuddling or dancing in it really. You don't have the same level of control. Also, if they want to reach a wider audience or put something on Steam like I'm suggesting here, I don't think they should or could do it under the SGD name.

Thanks. I would call it a wider audience rather than a younger audience though.

Idk, just brainstorming here, but maybe it goes even smaller. Maybe just release something on Steam called "My Room" or "Come Hang Out" or something and just give access to a room and the World Editor and the ability to invite friends from your Steam friends. You'd still have the character editor, internet radio and music streaming, dancing. No public locations needed. No public user rooms with offensive names either. No need for instancing or anything, just set a limit to the number of people who can be invited to the rooms. Modify the copy of 3dx to be only this and then sell it for like $15 on Steam. Idk maybe more.

Sansar does look nice, but it looks a little too ambitious and complex at the same time. Plus it is optimized for VR and clearly intended for VR. I probably won't buy a VR headset for like another 3-5 years I'm guessing. I don't feel like everything needs to be VR. This would be much simpler and not for VR. I'm also not sure if or when Sansar might have dancing or cuddling and stuff. Those are two of the most important things to me about why I love 3dx. I also looked into a game called Identity. It looks like it has a lot of nice things, but it also looks way too ambitious. That game has to be so far away from what they are promising right now, and it looks like it will be more focused on action and activities and stuff. They do have apartments and houses with internet radio and tv screens with internet videos which looks nice. My idea here would be to release something simple on Steam that 3dx has mostly already made.

I do play the Sims sometimes but it is single player. I just want a game that is like 3dx, but not like a pornographic game. I still want the cuddling and stuff. I love the dancing and listening to music. I would love to see the dancing expanded on a lot. I would love to see something like Rabbit integrated into the game so I can just hang out or cuddle and watch a movie or something. I like what 3dx has at its base as a foundation for a better game in the future. So yeah, I want to see a lot of updates and maybe a new team of developers working on it. My idea of getting rid of the sex is so it could be released on Steam, where I think there are a ton of people who would enjoy something simple like this to hang out and have fun in. There aren't a lot of games out there that give you poses to hug and cuddle and kiss and dance and stuff. Not a lot of games that let you stream music and throw parties and dance and design and build the entire location of the dance party. It's not that I don't like sex. I love sex. I just don't really care about the animations. I am fine with text and that can be done while I'm in whatever pose. I guess the main idea would be to get it on Steam. See if people like it. Make a lot more money to where the developers have to finally decide to hire more people. None of us really know what their profit margin is, or whether they do this as their primary job or what. I would just love to see them hire more people, or perhaps make this their primary job if it isn't, and if they need more money to do that, this is maybe a way to make it happen.

Sorry I don't mean to offend Second Life players. I just don't care for what I have seen in videos and stuff. I see. I feel stupid for thinking that. Lol. I will look into Sansar more. It looks nice.

Part of my idea here was that it would add more revenue to hopefully hire a more active and involved development team that would work on and manage and interact with the community on Steam. Also, nobody would be forced to use this version of the game - it would just be another option and a bigger revenue stream for development. Anyone who is happy with 3dx would ofc remain in 3dx. They would see the benefits through the things developed for the new version being added to 3dx as well. Also, I don't think things like VRChat are really direct competitors or offer the same things that this does. Sansar might be more like it, but Idk much about it and it looks like a really expensive / greedy game with the way they sell individual items for hundreds of dollars on their website. Also VR is still somewhat limited in who has the hardware and it is all around too expensive for most still. Second Life and it's terribad graphics and weird dinosaurs and furries and stuff everywhere is not competition to what 3dx does at all imo.

I think there would be a significant amount of coding involved, but I would think it would be worth it. The main foundation of the great game they have created would already be there. I think there would be a huge market for it on something like Steam, especially with the new World Editor now. If the popularity became what I think it would, they would also need to develop a solution for multiple servers or instances of public locations. Not sure if they have ever had to address this issue before.

Interesting. Thanks Shanti. Also interesting that he says.. I think that is sort of what I am getting at here. The other main point of what I was thinking would be to get it on Steam.

Just an idea I was thinking about recently. If I were gizmo or sexgamedevil or whoever is in charge, this is what I would do right now. I would start a new company or LLC or whatever with a non porn related name and history. I would take a clone of the current 3dxchat codebase to make a modified version of the current game that would be under the ownership of the new company. I would remove all the sex and porn related stuff, but keep as much of the nice intimate connection kind of stuff as possible, like slowdancing, cuddling, kissing. Keep all the dancing, clothing, world building, music streaming, etc.. Give the new version of the game a new name, something like Another Life (Idk, just kind of copying Second Life here). I would then release the game on Steam with a modified business model. Either a higher base game price, or a cheaper subscription model like ~$10 / month or something with the first month free. Then watch and see how this version of the game would get exponentially more users because there is nothing really quite like it on the market yet other than Second Life sort of, but we all know how much Second Life graphics and plain old weirdness really sucks. 3dxchat wouldn't have to go anywhere or change, and you wouldn't really be stealing away too many members from it either. This would be a mostly unconnected and completely new userbase. It would make a lot more money in my opinion, and it would push the socially-focused virtual world sort of genre forward because 3dxchat is absolutely the best one on the market right now, just most people don't know about it since it is a niche porn game. Revenue from the new version could be used to hire a bigger or new team of developers, and any non sex related stuff developed for either game could be shared between them. Some of us would prefer to go play this version of the game and who knows, maybe the current 3dxchat sexy time version would start getting more users through word of mouth about how there is a sexier version of this new game they discovered on Steam.
  20. @gizmo What if room files were only ever stored or loaded from the server? And to load a room, you would have to have the id of the creator? If there were no loading from files on the client pc into the world editor, only loading from the server behind an id check, wouldn't this make stealing rooms a lot more difficult? We would lose the feature to share room files, but we could get that back if you built a "Share" feature into the game that would grant access to the id(s) of the person(s) the room had been shared with. Those people would then see that room as an option when loading a room. They would see a menu list of the room files they have access to on the server, and this would be the ONLY way to load a room into the editor. It seems to me that the ability to load a room into the editor from a local file is really the root of this problem.
