The amount of people who are afraid of others finding out who their alts are kinda gives you an idea of their intentions. Yes I understand some people want to remain hidden from friends sometimes and I have an alt for that purpose also, but when I am on that alt, i don't worry about people trying to find out who I am because i am not doing anything to attract attention to myself. So the argument of people wanting to stay hidden is understandable but null in this case. If you want to remain hidden then don't bring attention to yourself in such a way that will make others attempt to figure out who you are. If you are using an alt to RP, then someone finding out who your alt is should not matter. Again, you should not have anything to worry about as long as you are not doing anything to bring attention to yourself in such a way that it makes others curious as to who you really are. I still feel that most people who want to remain hidden on alts feel this way because they are doing malicious and deceitful things. Account wide ban keeps people in check and greatly helps to safeguard against harassment.

Its easy,dont act in such a way that causes someone to do this to find out who you are. No one is going to just do this on every avi just to see if they are an alt. If you do something to raise a red flag, (like contact your friends on another avi and act like a diff person) then yes, you deserve to be found out.

Well if RPers have to suffer the horrible humiliation of everyone knowing they are on an alt so that everyone can roam in peace w/o being harassed then thats a fair trade off. You argument makes no sense. Also, maybe you should read the thread before replying to random comments. Ignore button doesnt work right anymore... someone can just make another character and harass me again. This is what the discussion was about before you turned it into something else.

Its a fantasy world and you are comparing it to real life. This is not an argument you will win. Should we take the colors out of profile for gender too cause it puts a big sign above them stating their gender? Sorry but I want to know if someone is stalking me or playing mind games with me. If you are roleplaying, EVERYONE knows you are roleplaying anyhow so what's the difference? You aren't making sense.

Why is it a bad thing to label a roleplayer as a roleplayer?

NO! You didnt create a new system by which any player can easily protect themselves. We had that before. What you did was create a system where if you ignore someone, they simply delete and make a new character and keep harassing. This new system sucks! And why were all ignore lists wiped? What was the point in that?

Someone in another topic suggested an excellent compromise that I think a lot of people might feel ok with. If you are going to keep ignores to that char only, simply label or mark alt characters. Brackets around the name, use a *, italics, diff color, etc. Then at least I know if the person i am talking to is an alt. This also does not interfere with anyone using thier alts for non-hurtful purposes.

This is a fantastic idea! Just label alts somehow. A diff color, a star, brackets, italics, etc. That should be a very easy fix and will give people piece of mind.

What the devs have done is allowed players to infinately harrass and stalk other players and at the same time, they found a way to profit from it. This is completely unacceptable. I'm sorry but anyone who favors a character only ban over an account wide ban is because they use their alts for deceitful purposes. I used to be paranoid when meeting new people. Now i am VERY paranoid to meet new people, and will probably just stick to the friends I have. Yes there are people who use alts for innocent purposes. I am one of those people. But an account wide ban should not bother these people if they are not doing anything on the alt that would raise a red flag for someone to want to find out who they are. You can't possibly think people will just ignore and check every avi they dont know just to see if they who thier main is. That's not realistic or logical.

It's huge in the case of people relentlessly stalking you. It used to be a safe system to where if you were being bothered or stalked, you could just ignore them and not have to worry about it. They would have to create and pay for a new account in order to contact you again, which is doable but a bit of a hassle. Now... just delete a character, make a new one, and let the stalking and harassment begin!

The ignore system used to be a very powerful tool that could be used for people to stay in check on alt characters, because it was very easy to find out if someone was messing you or stalking you. Simply ignore them and check your offline friends and look for the mutual ignore... then you knew exactly who it was. It was also nice to ignore someone and they got the ignore on ALL avis. This kept most people from wanting to upset people on an alt. Why was this feature removed? Obviously you have just made it cheaper and easier for people to stalk, lie, deceive,troll, etc because there is NO way to find out who it is and they now have option to this anonymity at a very reduced rate. It's actually now MUCH easier and cheaper to do these things. Why not just make people pay for extra avis but still keep ignores account wide? The ONLY people that would be against account wide ignores are people who are doing things on alts that they should not be doing or dont want thier friends to know.
