  1. It "does not make it so" because it already is
  2. You're entitled to disagree. However, no matter what connotations anyone wants to put on it, it is still just a game. Who is to say that the feelings one has playing here are any different to those one feels playing chess, for example.
  3. It's not that I don't have sympathy for you but it is just a game. I am sure that smoking is a game, alcohol is a game, drug taking is a game, etc. when you start, at least. It is all about how you play the game. And, in that regard, "the people behind the screen, are absolutely, 100% real" - you are not playing with the people behind the screen.
  4. I've told you before how much I love what you do. I've been a long time user of Corel products (Draw, etc. and PaintShop Pro) and I have Painter (the Essentials version) which I must have got free with one of those other products. Until you mentioned it though, I had never used it. I assume you are using the full blown version not Essentials, is that right?
  5. I already suggested that a long time ago with a map showing it moving between the other existing (at that time) locations.
  6. I know how much work goes into things like this and specifically this, despite what might appear to be a relatively simple competition, as I was one of the judges (I'm out of the game now so I can say that). Tauri did a great job and, for someone like me who enjoys the creativity that others bring to the game it was a great assignment. So, of course, I would like to see it, or an alternative, continue and soon.
  7. I've tried to make no big deal of leaving. I told all my friends and have made the odd comment in the forum but this particular game has just been a phase in my life. Like LovelyBritney, I started when I moved country. I played Achat initially (encouraged by my sister) and moved to 3DXChat when friends there told me about it. I like to contribute and, as with Achat, I ran my cartoons in the forum and also made many illustrated suggestions for game improvement, some of which the devs listened to. The lack of any development environment was frustrating so I eventually also played Second Life as there is much more scope there. It is ironic that they are just introducing the World Editor here (well, at sometime I guess ) now that I have just left but SL will still offer far more opportunities and at a much cheaper annual price and with a far greater and varied audience. It is not really a question of addiction. Sure, I logged in here every day to get my (useless) XGold but that was a matter of principle as missing just one day sets you back to the start. Why it doesn't work backwards for each day you miss is beyond me but then it is worth nothing, unlike the weekly financial return you get as a SL premium member. Anyway, playing has given me a job, further education and real life friends as well as many community friends.
  8. Nice technique. Makes for some interesting images. Hope you do more
  9. Wishing you well sweety Hashtag... IWon'tBeBack ... Even the world editor won't tempt me ... but I do miss you
  10. What I found more annoying was sitting (invariably at the beach) and looking up in the air, head thrown back my neck almost breaks.
  11. I am no expert but based on my experience with what was (and still is, to a certain extent) a relatively high-end Acer that is now effectively useless (for 3DXChat and being forced to run 32-bit with Second Life) because of Acer's (and Intel's) refusal to support the integrated graphics under Win 10, I would suggest ensuring that you get a discrete/dedicated graphics card (as opposed to integrated) so that there is at least the possibility of replacing/upgrading in the future. Any modern (except for Celeron based) laptop should satisfy any other run requirements, I would think.
  12. I am not an expert (repeat... I am not an expert) and I don't know what your configuration is but I understand that, in my case, with Intel HD3000 graphics on my laptop, the problem is that it only supports up to DirectX 10.1 and Win 10 installs DirectX 12. The Firestorm viewer for Second Life has a special version to overcome the problem and it is a 32-bit version (as opposed to 64-bit). When I say "the problem," I admit that it is only a guess that the two are related but as they were both following major updates and that there are problems with the compatibility and lack of support for many graphics setups with Win 10, it is probably a good bet that you won't get any resolution to this. However, I found a link suggesting you can run two versions of DX... http://www.dosgamers.com/directx-9-windows-10-windows-8 ...but haven't bothered to try it and I am not sure if Unity would be ok with it although Unity say that DirectX 9 or 11 are required for running games.
  13. Out of interest, has anyone looked at the Unity asset store to see if this is a purchase from there? There are a tremendous number of runtime editors available in the store but, so far, I haven't seen one with the same look and feel.
  14. Epic? You're going to burn apartment 2 to the ground?
  15. Nique said... No, I won't. RobT said (via Camden's post because I have him on ignore)... I have an annual sub (my third) and it ends next month. Spare me the shit you spout. The day that you start posting anything of import, making illustrated suggestions and/or doing something to enhance the life of the game and/or the forum (as much as I have done over the last three years) is the day that I will come back.
  16. Very, very, good Jets. I love the sort of imagination that can come up with things like this and put it into practice, given the limited resources available, and it puts to shame the crap that the devs have come up with lately.
  17. Clothes, poses, furniture, etc. are all included in the subscription. There is very little that you pay for (a beer, a 2nd avatar, marriage...). Content is strictly provided by the devs, no user content (well, someone did some once but no more), so additional things are at the whim of the devs and few and far between. Here is some of the things that you can change/wear (female)...
  18. Just point at the top and click, just like walking. I have never fully understood it and there seem to be certain points that work better than others but keep trying different points.
  19. Like this? https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/projects/space-shooter/adding-a-background Note the difficulty
  20. Amy said... What Amy? What does it make you? I think that you will find that many of the complainers that have been here that long have contributed sufficiently to the game, via the forum, in a multitude of different ways.
  21. panCDCA, it is not an "open world" in as much as you cannot move directly from one zone to another, you have to select it. Apart from that, you are re-clothed when you do go to another zone which is downright silly. And, your comment "Truly, I don't know you, so please don't take this too personally, but IF the hair which there are other styles to choose from is what your major peeve with the game is, then you were looking for a reason to complain" is what you expect from a "newbie." Wait till you have been here three years and seen little change. The point is that they are 8 new hairstyles that are a ) very similar to each other b ) very poorly made and c ) worse than the vast majority of styles that existed already. Surely, we should expect an upgrade to be not just an addition to the game but an improvement, no?
  22. Damn, Allie, I've run out of likes
  23. OK I'll embarrass myself (sure, lol!) by replying but you have embarrassed yourself by not reading that SBM has been banned, before you posted.
