  1. I do like the idea of two channels one which is world chat, which is for general chit chat across the game, the other specifically for advertising. As I do agree the world chat was heavily filled with advertisements for parties and rooms, and the posts were very extreme that I just don't look at it anymore and muted the world chat. But having a new chat channel for ads specifically will be the best action I feel in my opinion.
  2. Very nice! Old school
  3. Really nice stuff guys! Love the styles you've built.
  4. Agreed, all can enter, there are no limits to who can enter, so don't feel discouraged to enter. It's a fun competition at the end of the day to win nice prizes. Especially during current events, we all need a bit of escape from reality and this is a perfect way to do that. And at the end of it, some users can win some prizes. All in all, it is a fun experience and is designed around the basis of fun, so do not feel pressured or rushed, build at your own pace and have fun in the process. Again I look forward to seeing all who enter build submissions, I'm super excited! Good luck everyone, and remember, please submit your submissions here:
  5. Hopefully now the engine is up to date and no longer using Flash, they'll re-implement the TV system again. Maybe when the new server solution they mention will come, as maybe for some reason the current game server cannot handle streaming videos from the TVs to the clients. Would be my best guess.
  6. Oh no that really sucks Olesya. I hope you will be back in game again very soon!
  7. Hello everyone, As my original topic here sort of steered off track and got a bit messy with posts, this topic will be ONLY for the submissions. So please follow the guidelines and submit your pictures and such here. If any posts are made off topic, they will be reported to and deleted by SGD, please post in the original topic with comments and in general chit chat about the competition when submissions are made. If you want to send the actual .world file to have the judges hop in and look around, please send me a private message with the .world file attached, or a link to download the said .world file and some pictures to accompany it, that we may use in the final topic when we announce the winners if your submission is a winning submission. Also please submit some pictures in this topic so the community can also see your submission. Important: Once the .world file has been hopped into, and checked, if you asked for this. The DM and the .world file will be deleted. As it will only be required if you want the judges to jump in and look around. Thanks and good luck to all who enter!
  8. For those who are not that interested in this competition for this time, is all OK! If this goes well, it may be the first of many and for differing themes and builds around the editor, some could be for tattoos as some one mentioned, or another could be object designs. And many more new ideas. If this goes well, I may make a new post in the future asking what users want to see next in regards to a competition and what it should be based around. So those who are concerned they may not be in for a good chance, do not worry, enter, give it a shot and if it doesn't go too well, that's no problem! It won't be the last competition should all go well. So get those building hats on, it's time to get to the drawing board! Good luck to all of you who enter and I am super duper excited to see what you come up with! Don't be afraid to take part, the main thing for this is we all have fun. I'm super excited to check out what you guys and girls can do. Any questions or queries about it, please DM me, I'd be happy to answer your questions.
  9. Yes, crediting the object creators at the end of your entry would be fantastic! Do it in this format: ObjectName Used - Creator CreatorsName ObjectName Used - Creator CreatorsName ObjectName Used - Creator CreatorsName ObjectName Used - Creator CreatorsName Also hyperlink the objects name to the link where you got the item from. (Don't worry even if it's the Modz site, and other 3rd party websites it's fine.) to help others discover the fantastic objects creators have made. I've made an edit to the original post with the above information.
  10. Agreed! It is why using others objects that are freely available is OK. To help with the construction of something that may be a little complex, but it gives the user a better grasp of the scene and the design they are wanting to go for. I understand it from a Level Design perspective as I do a lot of it in the Unreal Engine, so sometimes you need an object from the many outlets online others have made to bring the scene together, but you may not have the time or ability to do it yourself in the timeframe you need. But yes, going overboard and downloading everyones objects and throwing it all in a scene is chaotic and not very good to look at from an aesthetic point of view. This is the opportunity for the builders to experiment, try new things, go out of their comfort zone and try something they thought was not possible, to really get their creative vision going and bring out their creativity.
  11. @Alliehotass and @BadWord I'd be happy to answer your queries. So as stated, you are judged on the following criteria with additional clarification on what each one means which I'll add to the OG post: - Creativity - How creative you are with the limited tools provided for the World Editor.- Presentation - How you present the creation. Whether it be clean, smooth, rugged etc. How the presentation reflects and relates to the aesthetic/theme you have chosen.- Quality - That the creation is built with quality, rather than quantity in mind i.e. A ton of items all over the place making it messy and chaotic will not be judged as well as if you had specific design ideas and plans and implement them into your creation to bring all the scene together to make it look like it's meant to be there, rather than placing lots of items just to fill the empty space and it's a mess artistically.- Atmosphere - How it makes one feel when they enter/view the build, what type of atmosphere you go for such as dark, gloomy, bright, serious, dangerous etc.- Effects - The use of effects to bring the scene together, an example: You build an alleyway next to a building, it looks like it's a homeless stay, you have barrels with fire coming out to keep the homeless warm for example. Another example: You make houses with chimneys and the chimneys have smoke/steam coming out of them to make it seem a fire is on in the building etc.- Build Methods - The types of methods used to build the scene i.e. Layering, grid based design, intersections, painting, scaling, rotation etc. Basically using the different tools in the scene that the world editor offers. (Doesn't have to be all of those, but are just examples). Those are what we will be judging you on. The criteria I wrote in the original post is what makes you eligible to be a contestant to the contest. But it isn't what you'll be judged on, meaning if you do not follow the criteria such as making sure it's your own build work and not someone elses you have stolen .world file and claiming as your own your entry won't be counted with proof that it is indeed fraudulent. To clarify the use of other users creations in regards to objects: Some methods you feel you may need or objects you may need may not be at hand when you need it and you need something quickly if the time is running out. Sort of like an "Asset Store" type of thing for a quick download of an object perfect for the scene, just without the store element. But I know there is a section on the forum here, where users have uploaded their creations for others to use and there are websites out there that are ran by 3DXChat community members where users also can upload their designs .world file objects for others to use at their own discretion, which is the types of objects I mean are allowed. As with all use of designs, so long as the permission of the creator is happy for it to be used/uploaded it should be OK. But if you use an excessive use of others objects, we can tell if that is the case as it will be varying in different artstyles and may be marked down in the "Quality" and "Presentation" segments I mention above which could reduce the chances of winning. So if possible try not to use too many objects of others and keep it in the originality of your own work as we're judging you on your own building abilities and we're super excited to see what you all can come up with and win some nice prizes at the end of it. I hope this clarifies some things, if there is any further questions, please send me a PM on here and I'll be happy to answer. I know some have already asked me questions about it so don't be afraid to do the same. As mentioned, this competition is a little fun thing for all to take part in and win some nice prizes at the end of it and do not worry if this competition goes well, more competitions for different things will come in the future. So if you do not win this competition, do not worry, you could win the next.
  12. Don't feel discouraged Mar! You should enter, I've recalled seeing some of your builds in the past pre-world editor with the old school .dll hack and they were fantastic! So don't feel down on your ability, it's fantastic. Go for it!
  13. Not to worry, we're all OK and are looking forward to seeing what members of the community will come up with. Yes all except the judges are allowed to enter. Do your best, don't be discouraged because someone who has done some cool stuff may enter, we're all capable of doing some epic stuff! So don't be alarmed and I, personally look forward to seeing everything you guys can do. As some stuff I've seen already are amazing in game. And get's me super excited as Level Design is one of my guilty pleasures
  14. I do not see why not, everyone can participate except the judges themselves. Yep, sorry Rob! There is no limit to the map size, but as EX above quoted my original post, we're looking for quality, rather than quantity. As there is only around 44 days left until the deadline, I am not too sure how fast users are able to build, which was why I set up a month and a half deadline. To give everyone of different build speeds, time to build their creations. So do not feel rushed, take your time, and let those creative juices flow. (Giggity)
  15. That is correct, it's your creation. It can be from any era or can be any theme.
  16. True it would be pretty ace, but of course it will depend up on if the winner also gives permission for it to be used in the game. As I mentioned in the original post, it is the creators own creation and their own IP in that respect. So it will be upheld if they so wish for it not to be featured. But I do agree, it would be a pretty nice incentive! And could bring a new trend to bring more community collaborations and interactions. Will see if I can pursuade them. Thanks for the great idea!
  17. You do not need to do high rise, they were just some examples of buildings. So are not needed if you did a cowboy era build. Just make sure the build can be identified as a type of city build with the elements you go with and the era/theme you go with. Please post the submission here such as pictures, gallery, video etc. In this thread and I will be saving all direct links to each thread post when discussing with the other judges. And a new topic will be made announcing the winners with the pictures posted in the winning thread for those who don't want to search through different posts in one thread to find the winning results. Also it would be cool if it was featured, maybe I can pursuade them somehow. We do not require your World files, we just ask for you to submit pictures/galleries/video (Whichever is best for you) of your build highlighting the key features that tick off the guidelines referenced in the original post with explanation of said key features. But the judges may ask for the .world file at their own discretion to prove authenticity of certain builds. If they seem non-authentic, but will be completely deleted afterwards.
  18. Calling all 3DXChat Builders! It's time for a competition to win some 3DXChat prizes. 19. Very impressive build, love it! Great job @Puka.
  20. It's cloudflare verifying you're not a botnet or illegitimate traffic. It's nothing to worry about, it's just the CloudFlare DDoS protection being active on the forum domain.
  21. +1 From me. I'd love to collaborate in realtime with someone on builds in the game. but I do agree, this will be quite difficult to pull off, due to how the building works in this game.
