Maybe you need that if you are not good at this. Not the Game.
Creative people can use the tools they have. Not everyone is equally creative though.

You are right.
But I think bug fixes shouldn't be even considered a "feature" and they should do it ASAP without any question, no matter what they are planning to add in the future.

But they locked their own topic. Which I found silly. Of course in that case people will create new "useless" topics about the same thing then.

Ylso, let's not forget GPU's are usually working between 70-85 degrees celsius, and in some games even more. GPU is supposed to heat up more than CPU. So don't be alarmed if it runs at 75 degrees.
 

Yes it's vertical sync. you gotta forgive me sometimes I just misspell a few things.
Basically monitors  refresh in vertical sections, if the framerate doesn't match, there are sync issues causing screen tearing.
Now vsync doesn't really strain your hardware. Or rather the performance impact is really minor. It is known to cause slight input lag in some games, which is why this option can be disabled, generally fast reaction competitive gamers want as low input lag as possible. It isn't the case for a game like this.
Generally reduces the strain in many cases, especially if we are talking about overheating issues like in this topic. just like a frame limiter does in cases where the game would push more frames than needed for your monitor to display.
And about the frame limiter set to 60 here, also a good thing. nobody really needs higher frame count in a game like this where fast movement is not realy a thing and 60frames per second are more than enough here even if your monitor is 144hz or anything. You won't see a difference

Vsync sounds a good idea I guess seeing as such a game wouldn't require anything above 60 since it's mostly a GPU heavily intensive game anyway when looking at task manager my GPU usage always spiking to 80%+ with this game

It's actually "vertical" synchronization, you're pretty much correct concerning the purpose of it though.
But it's generally better to disable vsync when you have performance issues already, since it adds an additional strain on your hardware. 

It's also a good idea to limit FPS, before I did that my CPU and GPU were always used almost 100%, it was insane

They have been doing a crappy job since a long time now. Only this time it is far more obvious to everybody. They just start saying something this time trying to do some damage control, while locking THEIR  OWN THREAD, which was created by Gizmo, for people to post Server issues instead of creating new threads.
They have been lazy with pretty much everything, including fixing bugs that were present for a very long time now, and adding the long waited features they themselves teased and promised. Without any feedback whatsoever.
So now the server starts kicking the bucket, (not very surprising) they send out some damage control announcements, including some funny things like get yourself a VPN, or if profiles don't work, restart the game. 
Now I'm quite sure they are capable and amazing devs, but also it's obvious that they have been neglecting their own job for a very long time now.

Stop pretending you know more Alivia, and don't speak for the devs. Only they can speak for themselves. You just sit down and wait it out with the rest of us, until there is an official announcement about this. You know nothing either

I was not going to say anything about this and I have been quiet for a long time, but the fact is that we are all paying customers that deserve to know why we can't have even the most basic functionality of something that we are paying for. This has been going on for over a week now. Even when things are stable, profiles are not loading, which means its difficult to contact friends. The ddos attack statement was a nice distraction but I believe the community would like to know what the issue really is and what, if anything, is being done to fix this issue. 

it seems pretty obvious that the server was not ready for the influx of population. In any case, this should be a top priority, and it's never a good idea to lie or keep your customers in the dark. We are paying for a service that is not being provided on even the most basic level.
