Did you check-out One-Drive on your computer? With the past windows update One drive always tries to copy the local documents to one-drive. If so..check out if there is 3dx-folder at your local documents. This happend to me and I did de-activate one drive for the 3dx-Folders. Since then my ingame sound works perfect agains

There are bugs - but this can be fixed. After testing some rooms, I do really have to say that the new engine is doing good. The performance of rooms is much much better than before! Good job all 

I do agree and some other nice function from 3dsmax

Yes this works with the snap step and snap angel settings. Ty Torax. crazy.... but undo is still not working and the other bugs. They definitely have to fix this.

I did design a new room todays morning - thats why I did recognise this bugs. The snap step sticks to 0.1 - whatever I do enter at the settings.

It is interesting to see how people use this topic! And I did not talk about the free-rooms. It can be how its. I was just asking for a function to protect designs from people you did mention 

I am asking for an option. An option to choose when I do share a room that the room is protect or not. The magic about the editor with all the function is to share! I was talking with a lot of builders before and they all did agree because it would be an option. That’s why I did start this topic.

Think just about you want to do or changes poses. i often miss wall poses where it would be fun to have.
I always say, i did not build it myself, just make it my home by editing it.
And technically, how should it work to host a protected room, tell the server the password when sharing?

This is hard to answer right now, cause we are just discussing possibilities. I do prefer a solution that you are still able to edit for privat use.

No download. Cloudbased. Like in million other games when you do buy ingame content. You do just have it. It is not a file on your computer. And then there will be millions option like editable, database watermark and what you did buy you can not re-sell at the ingame shop (or re offer for free)... But how I did say. Thats the big picture.

I was thinking about what we did discuss the past days regarding an option to protect room`s.

There are some opportunities like:

-          Editable/not editable room

-          Password protected – not protected

 There will be always the issue that you can’t edit anything. If there is a new standard ingame furniture, you can’t add it and maybe if there is a new pose – whatever. And and and…

-          Maybe there is way to protect grouped objects. The function for grouped objects is already existing inside the 3dx-Editor. 

Then there would be the possibility still to edit something inside the room.  But even with this solution would be ways around; like build a layer or add items at a protected group of objects. And And And

 -          An information about the original designer: “creation date and builder name” would be helpful in general

Whatever the way will be. There are pros and cons, and this are possibilities. Maybe a beginning. The big-picture in my mind is an ingame-shop(s) for rooms and objects – even designs for free. Then you can make sure that content won’t be shared "illegal” and you will be able to define rules about what is allowed to edit and what is not allowed, and everything stays inhouse. 

I understand your argument. Imagine there would be a password or not editable room. How I do understand this room might have an Room ID. The password might be connected with a kind of an ID. Maybe this would be helpful too.

• 5 years ago I shared a tiny design of an chapel-church as free download. Someone did download it.. did delete everything inside and is offering this church now as download and his work
• I did desing a hotel room. It was used in a video at youtube to get attention and clicks. They original room was edited for the video needs. There was no comment about that I did design it..

The idea is that you should not share the room file if you fear it will be leaked. Even if you theoretically put a password on the file, if you share the password, you can assume that your room is already public. I don't see how a password would help you protect the room.

Thank you for your feedback Gizmo. I guess the time did change 3dx. At the beginning we did place standard table together to have an floor. And now....the editor is powerful and comes with a lot of designing options and this is outstanding!

Maybe at one day you will re-think all

Pros:
- People can share time-consuming designs
- 3dx is more attractive for long-time designers
- This endless discussion who did copy what and where are over (requirement: usind of a password function)
- The free-shareing world does still exists
- Why not offering the protection for Gold ingame? E.g. 1000 Gold for password protection?

Cons:
- Loosing a password (what will happen then?)
- I am not able to even add a chair or whatever (Standards settings like daytime/nighttime settings are not protected)

All fine Torax.... I am a fan of your design since the first day and thats quite a time ago :). I am just trying to discuss this password protection idea and  I am thinking such a function is like a option. Maybe it makes people who do hide rooms more flexible to share and I guess this makes 3dx more interesting in general

There are two worlds we are talking here about. The one is the absolut free world. When you do share a design ingame; people can do with it what they want. I am even supporting this since years! But there is the other world. The world when people are so creative, having an outstanding, wonderfull designs and it is not a lie that someone did spent more than 1000hours to design something. What is the problem when 3dx is supporting "both worlds"? It is just a password-function, which will be used or it
won`t be used. 3dx would be much more flexible in mind with such a function  .

Arent there enough examples from RL that you can buy what you are not goint to change. Like paintings, a car and and and? Dont understand. What is the problem if someone does not want that the design is change able? I tell you something - there is nothing wrong with it. I would not give the password. For the free-downloads I would give the password and for just objects to merge in room I would give the password.

 "nonsens"?  Oh boy..... I am here for about 8years. How many rooms do you share at the modz forum and at other spots for free for years? I do and I am even using the 3dxChatstore. The password protection for objects/designs is not new to the mmo-world! I did not start this posting here cause of the 3dxChatstore; thats just the tip of the iceberg .

This "dupicate object bug" is a result when you do a multi-select of objects and doing this one by one. E.g. you do have bow with 4 object. And you do select the first object (keep selecting it) and then you do select the second object (keep selecting it) and then selecting  the third object (keep selecting it) and select the fourth object.

Sometime the result will be that the first object is copied 4 times, the second obecte 3 times, the third object 2 times and the last object one time.

I dont know when this bug shows up. It is not always.
