3DXChat 3.0 Beta - Development Update 2

Hello everyone!

After months of hard work, we're thrilled to share the latest updates on our game with you in this blog post.
The most exciting news is that we've launched a beta server for testing the 3DXChat 3.0 Beta before implementing any changes to the main version. If you can't wait to try out the updated client, you can access it now by
following this link: Join 3DXChat 3.0 Beta.

Let's dive into the details:

Improved Stability

We've prioritized enhancing the game's stability based on player feedback. To achieve this, we've taken a two-stage approach:

  • Stage 1 - Upgraded the game engine to Unity 2021 latest version.
  • Stage 2 - Addressed bugs in the game code.

Game Engine Update

3DXChat has successfully completed the first stage of porting the game to the new Unity 2021 engine, replacing the old 2018 version, and we are currently in the second stage of fixing bugs. This update grants us access to a wealth of technical improvements implemented by the engine development team. You can find a more comprehensive list of changes on the official Unity website.

It's important to note that most of the significant changes have been made behind the scenes and may not be immediately visible to players. Nevertheless, we believe it's crucial to deliver the game using the latest technology. We chose Unity 2021 as it's the version recommended by Unity itself for stability and suitability in ongoing projects. The newer versions, such as Unity 2022 and above, are currently considered unstable and recommended for research purposes only.

With the new engine in place, we'll be able to utilize all the features it offers. This upgrade brings numerous bug fixes and engine optimizations, resulting in a more stable client for players to enjoy while we continue addressing remaining issues.

Our upcoming plans involve further improving stability by continuing the bug fixing phase, alongside developing new content such as clothing and animations.

During the engine porting process, some systems encountered issues. However, we're happy to report that we've fixed them all, and in some cases, completely redesigned them. For instance, we revamped the beer drinking system, enhancing it by adding new types of drinks and food. As you consume these items, you'll notice the liquid level in the bottle dropping and bits of food disappearing from your plate. We've also introduced the ability to throw the bottle out of your character's hand, adding more realism to the experience.

But our efforts didn't stop at the engine upgrade. We've also included several new features and content for you to enjoy.

Open Your Own Shop

You now have the option to build your own store or place items anywhere in your location for other players to purchase. When items sell in your store, you'll receive 90% of the XGold earned. Grateful visitors can support your business by buying food and drink. Moreover, many of these items come with fun special effects. For example, vapes can emit colorful vapor, creating a smoke screen.

Share XGold Between Users

You can now gift XGold to other players or use it as payment for services. These features expand the game mechanics and offer fantastic role-playing opportunities.

Record Your Parties Like a Pro

We've added an optional camera mode for video recording (accessible via the F8 hotkey). This mode enables you to capture smooth, seamless fly-throughs or set the camera to behave like a quadcopter. Additionally, you can now control the default camera using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

New Content

We also have new in-game content for you, including:

  • Food and drinks objects for World Editor
  • Clothes (remastering old clothes + material system and brand new items)
  • Tattoos (6 new hand-drawn tattoos)
  • Sexual Positions (Not available in the beta client! Because they are in closed testing. You will get them in the release on the main server after the beta ends)

I am pretty sure the devs added the commission aspect so they can monitor all xgold transactions and will be able to see who is abusing it, and then take appropriate actions.

So let's just see how it works out before making assumptions that may or may not be accurate. 😉

If you control the system you would not need to add comissions and checkboxes or anything to monitor something, you can simply log it. I think the comission is more to let us think twice before we use the functionality, to keep the business of selling XGold for money and it is a way to reduce the amount of XGold in 3DXChat, a kind of deflation.

One way could either be as you say increase amount or maybe add more stuff we can earn ingame Xgold on, maybe like doing daily tasks to attending events or something. Think would make sense to have ways to naturally earn Xgold from being active and online same way other places make use of similar mechanic then option to purchase Xgold if one want to do least amount of effort route maybe.

like for example earning gold according to a number of hours of connection to be a good idea too

When I downloaded the Beta version it DID NOT create a desktop Icon for me to click on and Open the game. So once I logged out I could not find a way to get back into the game. How do I create a desktop Login link?

Go to whatever folder you unzipped 3DXChat_446_beta.zip into, and find "3DXChat.exe".  Right click and choose create shortcut.  Then cut and paste that shortcut to your desktop.  You could also pin it to your taskbar or start folder.  You can rename the shortcut so you don't confuse it with the original version.  💜

I think this will not become a big problem. See:

You can collect up to 300 XGold per day. This will be 300 x 365 XGold per year = 109,500 XGold. You can collect this per account and one account is, let's say, about 50 USD per year. So:

Ingame 109,500 XGold are 50 USD.

On the other hand:

Buying 100,000 XGold is about 90 USD.

So selling your own gold is somewhere between 50 and 90 USD, below 50 you have an own loss, over 90 there will be no buyer, it is cheaper to get it directly from 3DXChat. In the end, as seller, you can win around 40 USD per year and account, not that much. If you want to earn 400 USD per year you need to have 10 accounts first, 500 USD and then you need to login with each account every 24 h hours. Quite an effort if you cannot be sure anybody will buy the XGold.

(Please note my figures are reasonable rounded, not exact, to make the math a bit easier and better to understand.)

Yes but someone who has 100k that they'll never need could offer to sell it for $20. And whether they actually have that much gold is irrelevant. The creation of the mechanic makes a new reality possible and therefore a new scam. I'm talking about adding some kind of warning to transactions so they're reminded it's illegal to try to sell or buy gold. Or like someone mentioned, monitor transactions for suspicious behavior. (This doesn't solve external scams though)

when your beta is open, minimase window of game, and put your cursor on icon of opened game, right click on mouse, and click on ' pin ' option... now you game will be possible to open by click on pined icon

larger rooms are no longer loading :(  I got quite some larger rooms above 8MB which are working well with the active version and which are crashing immediaelybefore they are loaded in the beta version. All the work in vain? I expexted an even better performance with the new engine.

Please keep in mind this is in beta stage also known as the test phase, some things will work, others will not as they are still ironing out the bugs and seeing what works or what works but needs tweaking, and that sort of thing.

Don't expect this to work as well or even as close to what the live version is at this point in time.

Yes, sure, i am aware of that. But still this thread got its reason in reporting every issue or remarks on the beta.

The issue of game break when trying to copy objects in larger rooms is evident, so please keep an eye on that. The situation in this case should in any case get better and not worse.

The way you framed your comment makes it sound like you are complaining about the performance of the new engine.

If you were making note of something great, but you should refrain from commenting on the performance of the beta as this is still a work in progress.

For instance, VR is not working as of yet, but that is simply because they are still working out the general game bugs. There would be no need to remark about that as they know about it because they removed it.

First of all........THANK YOU FOR THE SOCKS.....FINALLY!

But, make them wearable with shoes.   Please!?

Keep up the hard work -- but just communicate more often, I think that will help alleviate a lot of the angst that is amongst us all.

Thanks again!

My biggest room with 14 MB is loading fine in the beta. What you can try is: use a VPN and see if this makes a difference.
A couple years ago I had a similiar problem that I couldn't "upload" some rooms. Using a VPN did help.

I wonder what the root cause is for these problems. I do not believe that's always some internet censorship or net outages. I more think the DDoS protection overacts every now an then ob spefic IP blocks or ports.

maybe the servers are not resilient enough against packet loss. If your ISP is not "good" enough and a few packets are lost, that might disrupt the connection.
But that's just my theory. When I had that problem with uploading rooms a couple years ago, a VPN helped.
So my room was the same, the server was the same, the only difference was the path that the internet connection went through...

This would mean a constant change of the package loss rate on different routes, because my experience is at time it works better with VPN at other times not.

2 indications for overacting DDoS protection for me are:

  1. At times it seems a disconnect-wave runs around, several users are affected at the same time but not all. When they are back to stable, other face the disconnect issue. For me this looks like a system and the only explanation I have so far is DDoS fighting.
  2. At times I do not face a disconnect but a “Connection refused” red box. Trying the same IP again most often works. Seems like a typical repeat test: If the contact is tried again it is okay, if not it was an attack. It also appears the IP does not work at all but the next day all is fine again.

my largest room is about 18MB ... I have splitted it for editing in several parts. Loading the 5MB part works with and without VPN. (this part shown on my video). Loading the larger part (14.224MB) is NOT working, neither with or without VPN. the game crashes instantly.

This is my only comment:

Gold transfer will break the community 😒

Also, 10% fee on the transfer?!? A Mafia Boss would make u a better deal! 😂

I am not exactly the biggest fan of SexGameDevil and what they promise and what they do, or better do not, Gizmo can tell you, but even less I am fan of trolling, so with this you will get three answers in one if you do not change your style, the first one, the only one and the last one:

As long as you do not explain why it will break the community it is as good as my words: Gold tranfer will support the community for the better! So, you are wrong, sorry.

A mafia boss would request 10 % every day after the transfer. Again you are simply wrong.

Okay @Paulinus ,

I have some guesses for you for I think the problem is caused by improper memory management within the editor. You can do nothing about it, that's completly up to SexGameDevil, but I have some hints which could help you to get it working anyway:

  • Before you merge, end 3DXChat and re-start.
  • Close as many other programs as possible. If you need Word running or a browser, close as man documens/tabes as possible.
  • Restarting your computer and then straigt forward, whithout doing other thing, trying to merge your room might be of help too.

The effect of these hints is to minimize the chance the editor tries to write into already reserved memory for keeping as much memory unused as possible.
