Just a thought about the lack of updates

There is this game known as Yareel (Former Sexpexfex).

Sure it is much much cruder animations and it is browser based.

But it still have much more updates than this game.

 Look at this promise:

post-2703-0-74730700-1416438545_thumb.png

Updates weekly. Almost same as AChat.

I am new here, and this is like the one issue I have with this game, the lack of updates.

I am done trolling now, but it just annoys me when I see Yareel (That is free to top it all) has these kinds of promises whilst this place does not.

I'm all for more updates. But honestly, a browser based flash game is probably not something you should use as a valid debating tool when up against this.

It's like constructing a building out of LEGO's to a real building.

PS just going off that screen shot.

Thats not the point, the point is that a free game with crappy graphics promises weekly updates, whilst this game does not.

Both you and me know that it takes less than a week to create more animations, or one piece of clothing and so on.

So no, I am not using it in that way as a valide debating tool, because that is not what I stated in my post.

Hmmm, if you actually try it out yourself - like I did right before - you'll see that it's not 'just' a browser game.

It's based on Unity3D as well. Yeah, it might lack of awesome graphics and the ability to set the camera position - as you have in 3DXChat, but who cares.

Like Cathy already mentioned, it's all about the content - and for that cloth stuff, the fucking animations etc. you have there - after that short preview I just had I think there's really no big difference in the creation process at all.

... well, maybe the shading part takes a little more effort for 3dxchat, but the underlying geometry and animations are done same way.

First of all, i'm all for more updates, and on a more regular basis.

Second, i dont know anything about the game you posted, but a quick lookup on google showed me that the game has some sort of payment system (No idea for what, my guess is more positions/customizations/...), and they had over 2400 active users in the last 24 hours. Thats impressive.

I haven't been here that long, and i'm online around the same time each day, but i don't think 3dx has a very large playerbase. Remember, it's 3 chars per account, some use all those 3. My guess is, the playerbase is closer to 100 active players than 200.

100x $19.95 = $1'995

200x $19.95 = $3'990

Now i don't even want to go into the financial aspect of it.. I have no idea where the developers live, what they pay for server infrastructure or the like. But thats just not that much money.

My guess is, there are 2-3 developers, who do this in their free time and for some extra money.

They could do more, yes, but that's what we get.

And let not forget the numbers of people that paid for 6 months or 12 months and get the game for much cheaper then 19.99$.

So it gonna be lower than your estimate.

Well thats the problem right? We can only guess.

And I think it is more paying users.

They would also get more paying users if they hired people who did regular updates and so on rather than we have now.

There ads are on most pornsites, trust me they have more players.

And there is nothing worth paying for in Yareel, so they have less paying users

I am completely satisfied with the amount of updates this place has received. Since I started here last month, I've seen 2 new pieces of clothing, new hats, DJ sets in the NC, more facial parameters and skin color, new hair, custom streams in flats, and a new pose. I feel like that's a lot of content to be added in just a little over a month.

Im with Amanda, been here for 9 months, seen plenty of changes and plenty of updates. Totally agree other games shovel out lots more content updates, but they are garbage and you have to pay separately to use the content on top of the monthly sub.

Then you and me haven't obviously been playing the same game my friend.

There is not been so many updates in this game if you compare it to others. And saying: "they are garbage" is essentially slapping everyone who has ever played any other online game similar to this one in the face, and it is rude to say that.

Considering that the contents of the other games usually are user made, and a lot of those users are currently playing this game.

Explain? I don't follow how saying other games are garbage is slapping the players in the face. Its thier choice to play the game, no one forces them.. If you want a game with 'garbage' graphics but lots of content, so be it. Im not judging the players, just the game. I think Mcdonalds is a 'garbage' restaurant, but that doesn't mean I think people who eat there are garbage to..

Ive said the same thing on other threads covering this topic.. No one is forcing anyone to play this game. No one is forcing anyone to spend their money on it. The game is what it is.

And ive been playing 3dxchat.. what have you been playing?

Update for browser games to do much easier in other 3d games updates are released once a month or two, here all good.

No they are released much more often than that?

My AChat browser updates at least once a week and that is also a 3DGame.

Then you have second life and RDC. Never played Second Life so I dont know, but RDC were as far as I remember plenty updates.

What loonie is trying to say is that its much easier to update browser games and that 3dx gets one or two a month.

Then Loonie should learn how to read through ALL of the posts on a thread before posting her opinion, since we already discussed this earlier in the thread.

No offense intended of course Loonie <3 Je comprends

Very true. Games like Yareel can be updated frequently with little work. That game looks so basic that one person could probably keep it up. Coding not only a 3D game, but one as graphically intensive as this one requires a lot of work. This game does get updated frequently. I cited 8 examples in only 5 weeks of progress being made. More importantly to me, two of those were a direct result of the devs listening to the community, which is a great benefit for any game to have.

Since you haven't obviously read through mine or Lucy's post (Which is kind of a "Troll" thing to do, just saying) and just slamming your opinion based on nothing, I am going to restate this one last time. Next time Amanda, please show some respect and read through everyone's opinion, and not just the ones you agree with, before just slamming your own okay? This is how we all keep being respectful to each other.

As previously stated, it is not that hard to make content that you may think. If you have the models and the understanding of the coding, it is not that hard at all. Just because one has better graphics does not make that one a thousand times harder to code. Just go over to NEXUSMODS and see the wonderland over there. Those guys do it just for the hell of it, surely people who are PAYED to do it should do equal work right?

Final note, you weren't here four months ago. I started being on the forums then, and I have talked with people since. Once, it went three months without an update, and then the devs did not listen at all. It is good they are starting to listen now. But before... They did not.

I been here 9 months as well at this point Macca is trolling since he uses this game once in year perhaps to chat with friends.

how about looking at here

http://3dxchat.com/updates.html

there been gap from april to august with no sex update. I find that quite terrible in sex based game dont you? oh no cus you always ignore this point when I point it out.

for 20$ a month, they should invest and hire proper developers and add at least 1 clothing / pose per week. but hey I am here for few friends so not that I care about that anymore.

lol.. trolling? really? because I stick up for the game? try and be positive about it?

I pay $7.66 a month (or equivalent) paying $20 a month is your choice no one else's. They don't owe us content updates, they owe us access to THIER game. Don't like it, don't play it.. makes sense right?

And cathy, no offence, but you started on the forums on 2nd September. Do the maths, you have been here less than 3 months, not over 4 like you stated.. And this game hasn't gone 3 months without an update, since I have been here anyway. Sex pose updates, yes, but other content updates have been patched. **Not trolling, just stating the facts..** http://3dxchat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/808-content-updates-with-graphs/

Wow Cathy. I really must object to you calling me a troll. That's quite rude. Just because my opinion differs from yours does not mean that I am slamming you in any way.

Now I do agree that models can be moved and created, etc. That is not the biggest issue. Sure anyone can create models and poses but making those models and poses work into a multiplayer game is a completely different task. There is a lot that goes into any kind of mmo type game. Simply making poses and adding them to a game of this type is not a simple task. A lot can go wrong in a multiplayer game that requires a lot of testing.

Quality > Quantity

Other games are not as high quality as 3DXChat, they're more aimed at bringing us quality over quantity. Those other games such as Second Life, Yareel, and Red Light Center are very basic. Basic is easier to handle and quicker to work with over higher quality. They'll push out quantity easily because of their basic design. While SGD is looking to bring quality content to us for a low price. Honestly I can see why others choose low quality, they fear computers won't run high stuff, or the price is cheaper, or just preference. I've been a member of Second Life for years, user content made indeed and low quality. I've been a member of Yareel for months and didn't care for its style of meet and bang web browser style. I've been a member of Red Light Center for months and don't like it's low quality, even Second Life has better stuff and that's user created! (At least RLC2 is in development with a decent quality shift). 3DXChat offers the best for a low price. I could care less how long they take because that just means better quality with the more time they take to develop content over rushing it out. Rushing leads to more problems for them and for us. Just be thankful they're bringing us additional content, especially not as DLC or microtransactions in game for real money, especially at high prices. Be respectful they're communicating with us and making sure we're heard while other companies would just go EA leaving us in the dark with no answers.

Quality > Quantity
