Vaughan_Rarius Posted May 3, 2019 Share Posted May 3, 2019 RIP. The family of Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca in the original Star Warsfranchise, has announced his death on Twitter on Thursday. He was 74. Mayhew died on 30 April in his North Texas home surrounded by his family, Rian Johnson, director of The Last Jedi, also paid tribute to Mayhew saying, “To create a beloved character with warmth and humor is a testament to any actor’s spirit.
