Does 3DXChat run on linux?

Hi, I'm new to 3DXchat, and would like to try it, but i have linux on my laptop. Anyone know if the game would run on linux with wine or something like it?

Sadly it is only programmed for Windows, but they may look into making it for multiple operating systems in the future when the game is more developed.  You can play it though if you have windows bootcamped with Linux on a different partition of your hard drive.

Wine or other Windows emulator will probably be enough to allow you to run 3DX on Linux, but I haven't tested it myself, so your mileage might vary.

I suggest you to use Oracle Virtual Box for Linux. Once installed, create a Windows virtual machine. INSTALL 3DXCHAT. Enjoy it!!

I have it working on Arch using CrossOverOffice (codeweavers) with:
.Net 2-4 (4 may be enough)
DirectX 9
VisualC++ 6-2013 (2013 may be enough)
It may work with Wine and winetricks for the libraries.

Nice setup. I will need to try that. 

 

I got to admit I use linux mostly for server setup and not much for desktop.
