AnnikaDevi
Hi Adultery (from Latin adulterium) is extramarital sex that is considered objectionable on social, religious, moral, or legal grounds. Today the law has changed for India. For years India had been upholding a law. As per the Indian law, a woman cannot be punished for the offence of adultery. Only a man who has consensual sexual intercourse with the wife of another man without his consent can be punished under this offense in India. If someone "lives in adultery", the partner can file for divorce. The law has now changed. the SC of India in it's judgement said: “It’s time to say that (a) husband is not the master of (his) wife,” A five-judge bench of the court ruled that section 497 of the Indian Penal Code violates women’s right to equality and treats them like the property of their husbands. However, the offence still remains a valid ground for divorce. My question to all men and women in the world and also of those countries where men & women are adulterous is that: 1. How much is changing adultery law justifiable in a society where the social structure is already crumbling under western influence?2. Is it good for a country like India where marriages are still an integral part of "TRUST"3. In a country which is already unsafe for women will change in adultery law provide extra security to the women?4. What is husband to his wife after the change of the law? Is he just her BANK? 5. What about those good men & women who are poor and forced to live with adulterouspartners? 6. If a man divorces adulterous wife what are the possibilities that he will get a pure wife even after he has been divorced?7. Will Cheating sites be a booming industry in India after adultery is no longer a criminal offence?
