Problems with game performance

Hello all,

 

I'm new to the game and the forums, so advance apologies for any faux pas, but I just wanted some info/advice on getting the game running more smoothly. I seem to be ok in smaller rooms, but once I'm in a room with a lot of people (say, 20 or more) I have pretty bad framerates, and the game seems to lag pretty badly. I'm on an older laptop, but I seem to meet the system requirements, so I was wondering if there's any advice, or something I'm missing? I've tried adjusting the graphics settings, but even on "low" I have issues. My laptop specs are:

 

System: Windows 10

Processor: Intel i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz

RAM; 8.00GB

Graphics: intel HD Graphcs 3000 (equivalent to Nvidia GeForce 310m)

Direct X 12 up and running

 

Any thoughts? I'm not the most tech-savvy when it comes to this stuff.
