Oculus Rift VR and problem of sound in 3dxchat

Hello everyone,

In first sorry for my english i'm french. I have a virtual reality helmet oculus rift that remains permanently connected to my computer. I use, for whom knows this headset, oculus home software in administrator mode to avoid overheating of the headphones when I do not use it. I use it on several games, movies or applications but not on 3dxchat because of the recurring bugs in the VR mode on this game and the complexity of writing quickly on the virtual keyboard chat.

By default it's a wireless headset that I use on non-VR games. In the 3dxchat options I uncheck the oculus rift to play normally. However, outside the VR mode, the sound still goes on the oculus rift headset instead of on my usual wireless headset. I tried to find a solution in the windows 10 settings without success. I find myself forced to turn off the sound in the game because of that. 3dxchat is the only game that causes me this problem. I say that I refuse to unplug my oculus rift helmet that I use a lot just for a game. However I would be able to rebase the sound on my wireless headset without disconnecting my oculus rift headset from the computer. Does anyone who has the oculus rift or the HTC vive have the same problem as me about the game and does anyone have a solution please?

Thank you in advance to all

I actually did have this issue once but i cannot remember what I did to fix it.

I can give you a few things to try.

You can go into your oculus home and play with the audio settings...

Another thing you can try is to go into control panel and click "sound". then when the window opens, right click on the audio output device you want to be default and make sure it's set to default.

I hope that helps.

Another thing to note.. if the white light is on at the top of the headset that means its active, so the sound will be coming out. if this is the issue, just place your headset in a spot where the sensors cant pick it up and close oculus home.
