Is there such a thing??

 

The 3DX support team have told me via email that they're working on a new one.

 

Is there an old one?? If so how do I find it?!

 

As a beginner I find basic maneuvering very difficult.

Hello and welcome yser70. Basic maneuvering is quite simple. Literally where you click is where you will go. My advice is click on the floor, if you click on walls & objects you will end up stuck walking at them. I think there is some tutorial but I forget.

 

One thing I would suggest though is to have one thread called something like "help beginner" and you can ask questions in your one thread as you find you need to ask them. This way it will be easier for everyone to respond to you & also for you to get information. Otherwise your going to end up with threads everywhere for each individual question you need to ask which will get complicated and messy hehe.

I'm having total basic trouble maneuvering. Also I can't ger the hang of the 'Invite' business in the various locations. I arrive there; my character refuses to move; a host of names (one on top of the other) appear; at some point figures show up - I right-click on them like mad and sometimes (rarely but sometimes) an enlarged-in-blue version of the name appears - and I click away on that; mostly nothing happens at all; very occasionally a menu does appear. I click on Invite. Mostly nothing happens. Sometimes - rarely but sometimes - a 'Wait' air message appears with a 30-second countdown. Then what do I do? Nothing ever comes of it. Either I interrupt the countdown and go to a 'Home' screen, and nothing every happens there; or I wait for the countdown to complete, and then nothing at all happens anywhere either.

 

Sometimes I take my character to one of the home screens wondering if an invited character will appear.

 

Usually I get a furniture menu on the side of the screen where some activities would otherwise be. I don't care about the furniture.

 

Nothing at all will make the furniture menu go away.

.

I give up and try another location.

 

With identical results.

 

Help please.

 

(How do I get to the 'old' tutorial - which I was never offered when I joined, despite forum members' assertions that a tutorial shows up. Mine never did and I have no idea how to access it! 3dx could be a GREAT game. If one could play it.)

If you are seeing furniture menu then you are in home editor not your actual home. All locations are under the left hand side far tab.
