I do not expect this to stay. There is something I want to say. The moderators make their decisions using the information they are given.

I think the bullies turn threads they don't like bad so that the moderators have to remove them. Intercessional said that he/she is not concerned enough about the issue of the rooms to have an opinion. He/she feels strongly enough to criticise somebody for trying to do something. That is like the person who attacks the Big Issue seller when they do not feel strongly enough about homelessness to buy a copy.

I make an edit here. I think I have made a mistake.

Deleting a thread whose subject matter breaks the rules is the right thing to do.
Deleting a thread because some posts break the rules is lazy moderating.

I see two things happening

1) Threads that have valid points but are done in such a way they will inevitably get deleted because they break the rules. These are like a gift to the trolls. Answer, wise up.

2) Threads that aren’t the above but are a subject certain people decide they don’t want discussed. These get baited into becoming arguments and get deleted because no one can resist the bait. Answer, wise up.

Of course if we had some effective moderation that handled things properly like, oh, every other Internet forum this wouldn’t be an issue.

And I thought this might be about a plague of naked men landing in Sin.

Threads get deleted because certain people in them break the rules regardless of who made the initial post. So I think the OP is spot on.

or because the topic was against the rules, could be that also.  seems to be a pattern with some, make a thread, it gets deleted, blame everyone else. I seem to remember a thread that asked what a real man was, i can now tell you what a real man or woman is, its someone who takes responsibility for his or her own actions. Food for thought.

I think we have seen that the people who get threads deleted are the same people who create drama and make threads go bad.

I have read many threads since I decided to challenge the bullies on these forums. I have seen them follow a routine. One thing they do is take something people say out of context. They use this to cause drama. I have seen them use informations about people. They take this out of context and use this to cause more trouble. I say to the bullies November 17th at 18:43. This tells them that the complete informations are available to anybody if they know where to look and can pay.

Yes! The bullies do pay for informations they can use to bully people.

People came into Chloes diary and started a bunch of crap. They called her a nazi along with a bunch of other things that happened and the thread got out of hand. So they decided deleting the entire thread was the best action? It was like 3 or 4 years old and like 60 pages or something.

Instead of deleting the posts that were in question ... they deleted the entire diary. Certainly not the right way to handle that issue.

Doesn't matter tho.

Hello Jessica. I read some of Chloe's diary. It was just another thread gone the same way. The bullies making so much trouble that the moderators have to delete the entire thread. The bullies know this and play the system.

In a perfect forum, the individual thread that broke the rules would be deleted and not the entire post.  Since this isn't a perfect forum, the easiest thing would be to delete the entire post.  It sucks that some people have a large post, but when the bashing gets to the extent as mentioned above, it should be removed.  Regardless of the amount of pages it contained.

I have honestly given up all hope of having any more meaningful discussions here with anyone. A small handful of people seem to enjoy making threads very toxic and I will no longer be taking part in any of it. I will be mostly visiting the events and tech support threads.

The best way to deal with these types is to simply remove yourself from the environment altogether.

I wish you well.

I find myself torn. On the one hand I think it’s best just to leave it be and let them entertain themselves by trolling each other. That could be really interesting seeing as it is a very small cohort and they all know each other. On the other it makes me so angry when someone tries to say something meaningful or interesting and they mess it up. Like I feel I have to do something.

Basically this forum gives a false impression of the game, and it is sooooo not a good one. Shouldn’t the forum be a showcase for the game with a wide representation of users’ experiences?

God, i’m repeating stuff i’ve said before and we all know.

Seriously though I decided to bow out a while back but I really don’t feel able to let someone else take all the crap. I suppose it’s best to try to pretend the trolls aren’t there and report them whenever they step out of line. It’d be nice to have a decent discussion about something while they are a trifle indisposed.

This ^^

Be smart. Don’t let them bait you. Don’t give them attention. Don’t bow down.

You have to remember this place is some people’s whole life and while its full of people with issues, some are decent humans in spite of that, some have been consumed.

I am sorry but this is funny coming from a couple people who have been permanently banned multiple times and have various alts in forum just to agree with themselves. your accounts and your threads vanish almost weekly, must be everyone else's fault, makes total sense.

I am off to Indianapolis, you kids have fun making alts to talk to yourself and then telling everyone else they have a problem. They have a name for that, feel free to look on my profile page to find out what it is.
