Where? I’ve just looked and can’t find it. Are surveys here anonymous? I don’t think you’ll get a good result unless it is.

Waves to Desi and decides to wait and see if more people contribute. Did you find anything out btw?

Hi C, no not really about the SL number, mostly speculation.  Found some studies on female gamer numbers, and what types of games they play, but I couldn't find a direct comparison to this type of place.  As to having serious discussions about anything here... doubtful.  Some will contribute, others will bash, likely the silent majority ignores the forums because of that IMO.  Hugs.

I think they might stay silent because almost nobody cares about this topic anymore, IMO. It's been discussed a million times already.

1: i am 100 percent suggesting that any business much less 3dx doesnt care who buys his or her product as long as someone does.

2: you seem to suggest that somehow if we have  more real women in the game it would make it better, how so? are you suggesting that women cant be trolls or mean.

3: The Times is a UK based paper. while it may be respected there, means very little elsewhere. as a matter of fact if you polled most people and mentioned just the times, They would most likely think you meant the NY Times.

4: its no secret that we have a good number of TGs here, are you suggesting they arent really women? Thats a question, not an accusation

5: you are confusing the real world with a  game. in the real world you need things diverse, this game is based on fantasy so really doesnt matter if guys arent guys or girls arent girls. If a person objects to it, they can simply play another game. thats the good thing about entertainment. The game isnt made for just you or me for that matter .

btw, just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they are bashing anything or anyone. the only one saying anything negative is you guys, trying to tell people they shouldn't post if they dont like it. while i do find fault with taking rumors and acting like they are fact, please direct me to any post where i was attacking in any way. I will wait

Is it the same topic, where has it been directly addressed before? Links please.

Figures:-

As Desi says a direct correlation is hard to find. Quantic Foundry quotes the following for percentages of woman players

Open World - 14%
Action RPG - 20%
Interactive Drama - 37%

So on average a bit over the 20% looks like it’d be realistic for 3dx Chat, with trying to allow for the different sample sizes. So the woman’s market has potential.

Family/Farm Sim is 69% women. Not my fave but an interesting one.

and how do they know this, when was the survey taken. what means did they use to deduct who was female vs who wasnt?

Who says the women's market has potential? Potential for what, to see a porn game and decide not to play it? Or not even know it exists.

"A recent Pew research center survey made waves when it reported that only 8 percent of women watch online porn — a number that struck many as extremely low. It seems plausible that part of the reason for that low number could be that women are still ashamed to talk about their porn-viewing habits."

That's from the Huffington Post. I have no idea if it's accurate, but it seems legit.

Bottom line is an average is just that, an average. means very little when finding out info for a specific game. I will give you an example.... I think its safe to say rape and incest would be a fairly high percentage in just about any survey taken as for people who are against it however if you took the same poll in just 3dx, i am fairly certain the number of people who didnt mind it as far as rp would be a good amount higher.  Just using that for an example, im not interested in that argument, just used it as an example.

Hillary Clinton was kicking D. Trumps ass in just about every poll imaginable up to election night. was suppose to be a blow out, how did that work out. My point is, surveys and polls are influenced by people who want to answer and a good number of them arent speaking the truth or they poll people from a certain subset or location. You could  give  the same survey 50 times and get 50 different conclusions

I am mostly done with this men are women stuff because its been beaten to death before. I need some coffee, its early

i will add you have no way of knowing if you are getting someone who is female anyways so the point is moot. they arent going to go through the trouble of carding people. simply no reason and as i said before, they would lose more people then they gain

I don't think this women's market that Ciera speaks of has potential either. I am not sure when that happened. The internet has been around since before I was born, did something drastically change recently that I don't know about

I think if you peel away the layers of the purpose of this thread this is just Ciera, again, trying to justify and prove she is a woman.
