{Over} decorating issue

I decorated my house 1, and used a lot of furniture.  Everything seemed fine till I got out of editing mode and went back to house to see.  When I appeared in my house, the screen was black, but I could hear my foot steps as i moved about.  I can log in still from the character screen by clicking the middle button, editing character mode i think it is.  But, now I can't use house 1.  I have tried inviting a friend over, and found out they had the same issue at my house.  Is there a way to refresh your house, without actually being in it?  Thank you.

Iv never seen that happen, gets fixed by going to dressing room and back o.o would you open it for public

I COULD open it, but fair warning ... once you go in, the only way out is to close the game and relog.  For me, I need to log into dressing room like you said, because I think by default you appear in House 1?  But hey, I could name it "LIGHTS OUT!!!" and watch the fun in world chat i suppose

Hahaha that sounds like fun.. Id like to test joining there with different settings and stuff And im not scared of having to restart the gamee :3

OMG ty!  I'd appreciate that.  I'll log in and Open it.  I'm out of idea's.  I thought it was only me till I invited a friend there, so, it must be on the server side?  IDK.

I joined twice to see what it was. I don't know what I expected by joining a third time and getting the same black screen...

Haha you guys are funny    I'm STILL in the room.  I didn't realize when I created it, i need to JOIN it to keep it open.  SO, them foot steps you hear runnin around, it's probably ME!  And the occasional victim like Maxxim that keeps coming back lol

Im here constantly.. You dont need to be there to keep it open though! do you just go dressing room and public

When i make the room, my options are ... Join room or Close room.  Once I join the room, the entire screen is black and I'm stuck.  I don't know what to do.  Only thing I can think of is Alt/Tab to get off screen and close the game.  Rooms closes when I do that right?

 

I just managed to get outta the room.  By clicking everywhere i think i hit the tutorial button and it brought me to the dressing room.

You can just x the window that says join room and close room your room will still be open And if you joined it, you can just leave it by clicking around the dressing room it wont close

Im sorry but i cant think of a fix for this :S Maybe server restart, but that rarely happens >.<

Ok.  Well, ty for looking into it Rochi    Appreciated.  I did learn a few things, with your help.  It's possible to get out.  Riela suggested i send support an email.  I'll probably do that.

Tutorial.. Hmm.. If you enable the tutorial for apartment again..

 

To the windows "search programs and files" type "regedit" and hit enter

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/SexGameDevil/3DXChat

Find tutorial-home_......

Right click, Modify

Set value data 0

and run the game again.. This could do it for you.. Not sure though..

 

I tried it on an alternative character, but it doesn't reset the layout of your home though

Nope.  I looked in there and it must have reset when i hit tutorial.  It was set at 0 already.  I relogged and no change.  It was a nice thought though!

I've had this problem a few times when making homes.. overload with the same object.. (i tried to make a plant maze) .. after a certain limit.. home goes black..

Is there a way to fix this?  What did you do?

I couldn't fix it. Thankfully, wasn't on my main avatar's homes, only on alt for specific purposes, so I had to delete the character, and recreate.

So im thinking of testing this with an alt, seeing how many plants it takes to break the house and maybe we can get limit on the plants as well to prevent any future issues like this..

 

Im expecting its the plants since they most likely use more polygons than other furniture..

if you wanna try, i did it with the plants once, and another time with the stools

I had 300 plants and 5 lamps inside, 30 plants on the balcony, and after i place 20 more on the balcony it wouldn't load anymore x)

 

But why would you have 350 items anyway! xP

 

So i went back to the home editor, clicked all around trying to drag or delete stuff, left the place, went in again and it loaded, with everything gone

Thanks Rochi for trying this experiment.  Shanti, I messed my home up using poles.  I made a maze.  I guess i did too good a job, there's no way out of this one in the dark lol  Rochi, I have tried going back in, in editing mode and deleting things in the dark, but it's hard; can't tell if you're deleting anything.  But, atleast I know that WILL work if i can manage it.  And worse case scenario, I'll do a make over on myself.  Thanks again. 

 

I went back in just now and clicked away in the dark for a bit, and I know I moved a few things around because I heard it.  I'm not sure if I managed to delete anything, BUT, just like you said, when I got out and entered my house, it was wiped clean.  It gave me a message something to the effect of "Welcome to your new home" xD

Could you contact support team with your character's name and request to reset your home? 

I think we have to add some limitations to avoid Over decorating.

hey guys, did you find any fix to this issue? It happened to me today and i added a lot of plants in the balcony of room 2 and my room went completely white with no furniture after i entered the room again to customize.

the over loading of plants is an old glitch that has been used to turn floors white for a long time.
