~SBM~
So here's another deep post from me, of course. I've been thinking about this for a while now and wanted to hear what the community had to say about this. While love is an intense emotion controlled by your serotonin in your body, a soulmate is something much deeper. While those serotonin levels in your brain can diminish over time resulting in the end of a relationship, soulmates are there forever. One might ask, what's the difference? Well, in my opinion a soulmate comes around only once in a lifetime. It's the person which you feel an immediate connection with, without even knowing them. Almost like it's dejavu or that you have known this person before, perhaps in a past life. Your souls are intertwined and compatible almost like they are mirror versions of each-other. A soulmate can only be described as a spiritual connection between two souls. I know.... this is deep and most people will ignore this post and that's OK, but this is something I've been contemplating on recently. I'd love to hear some feedback about his, and please no troll posts and stay with the subject matter. I will also put up a poll to see what people think, if it's possible to meet a soulmate online. Keep in mind that soulmates and love at first sight are two very different things. Love at first sight, or lust at first sight, however you wanna call it, isn't a soulmate.... Anyways, please leave your comments, I would love to see what you think.
Torax
I do believe you can find your soulmate online, and I wish and hope I met her. At least that's how I feel right now. I would not agree totally with your definition of soulmate as it looks like instant connection. I think you can become soulmate over time too. As you discover more and more about the other, you realize finally she could be the one. Of course you can get some hint from day one, but it with time that your really discover the extend of the connection between the two souls, and it's over time your realize how strong these connections are. Also I don't feel like my soulmate is like a mirror image but more like the other part that complete a whole. Some things in common, some things you are totally opposite and still it fits. Many times people have felt like they found their soulmate and this person truly was but just for a period of time and then people change and roads split. What I like so far is that we are both changing, maybe changing each other without wanting it, and we evolve still completing each other. I don't know if can express very well my thoughts, it is hard to put some words on something you don't totally understand and yet you can feel. Niblette
I have felt an instant connection here with someone but your describing sounds to much like infatuation. I don't really believe in soul mates. I think that you can find someone anyplace you can meet people who might be the one. In RL I do not see couples who have been together for a long time that seem to still be in love, so I am not convinced its something that can last forever. It is much trickier here though since there is really very little to go on and lot of the things which might be relevant in RL aren't really here. honestly it seems hard for most people to maintain relationships here I have seen very few which last more then three to six months, and the ones that do are almost never exclusive. ~SBM~ and RobT

Athene
I don't think you can call them your "soul mate" until you meet them in person and have had sufficient time with them. I'm with someone who definitely makes me feel that they are the one for me, but meeting in person is what we need to finalize everything between us. RedJewel
I think you can meet your soulmate online, over the years I have met a lot of people who have met and Married after being together online, but the key is met, You have to meet this person real, learn who they are as a real life person, yes online you get to know them, what they say their like and dislikes are, but how do you know, you fall in love and want to meet and when do, that same connection is not there, Why? I think we have to fine someone of the same heart and understanding as we have go in honest, if you come to just Roll play say that, and agree on what you want from the start so no problems later, we all come for a Connection, to say you don't is a lie, can be loving or sex, some would dissagree, but to me to have sex is to connect in one way or another, just my thinking, Me myself I like that loving caring connection, is it the correct one, who knows, some days I don't, but I love the feeling of it smiling, the feeling of someone coming to be with just me loving just me, us growing together, in love and sex, having that Mutually exclusive understanding that this is what it is, and what we want, for me for that time its wonderful, is it forever, we are in a game, and we have to learn to fix our minds to that fact that, well hell Nothing last forever, so I want to enjoy what I have for the time I have it, Nitroo and DanTheMan

violetvv
I really don't think so. About the whole soulmates thing I mean. What is soulmate? What is love? There's a song about it but I don't think it answers the question! lol I think you can become infatuated with an online persona, and can do so very quickly if your brain is wired in that way. You can convince yourself that it's love, that they're your soulmate, but both things require a trust that you cannot readily gauge even if you've been living together for a year. Getting on each other's nerves, being with one another in less than flattering situations, and outfits, and still loving each other in spite of it all. I might call that "love", though maybe only on year 2 lol
