Why be ready for it?
It's just going to look different outside.
Big deal.

The largest eclipse will last 2 minutes and 41.6 seconds near Makanda Township south of Carbondale, Illinois It will be the first total solar eclipse visible in the southeastern United States after the last eclipse of March 7, 1970.
In northwestern Europe eclipse will only be visible partially in the evening or sunset. Only Iceland, Scotland and Ireland can observe the eclipse from start to finish, while in the rest of the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal the sunset will take place before the end of the eclipse.
