Colloquy
There's a bug where a person can be sitting on a sofa for a time but when a new person enters the room won't see that person sitting and will sit " into them. " To then someone has to say " Hey, you're sitting in me "..and then they have to get up and it's all like " Oh, I didn't see you. My bad " This happens with users you don't have on complete ignore so it's definitely a bug.

AlexRyder
The reason for this is that the game may start loading characters before the room has loaded completely, therefore failing to place a character on a prop which hasn't loaded yet. The fix is fairly easy, the code just needs to wait until the room has finished loading before starting to load players.
Deeborah
An other option is that when you are sit, you go up and down on regular base.By chance a new pose for FF allow to do this when you are with your partner ... up .. down .... up ... down .... mmmm well maybe I am just out of context .... More seriously thank you Alex for technical detailed and serious answer.Behind the specific problem of sitting on someone, it also means that you can enter in a room, not see a friend (so not say hello) and change of room letting him think you ignore him.Not very nice when you heart beats because you know the person you look for is there but you do not find her. A problem that seem to have a solution ... so let's .... wait !
