  1. 1. Which is the most virtuous virtue and why?

I would say forgiveness is the most virtuous one. Reason being is that it's the most challenging one. To be wronged by a person not only once but time and time again to still forgive them? It's truly a virtue that I think would even change the most meanest person cause I believe eventually they would begin to be convicted of their wrong doing.

One can be honest yet honestly hate you.

One can be loyal yet be loyal to the wrong thing for the wrong reasons.

One can have empathy but it's limited if you haven't experienced a thing that another has.

One can have compassion yet without empathy it wouldn't be as potent.

Humility? A close second for me..lol

One can be kind but be selective with their kindness.

Would love to get a nice discussion going!

All of these are deeply interconnected, they are not separate values, you can't have one of those qualities without having the rest of it also to quite a great extent, there give no such thing as separated values,

while ''loyalty'' on the list, well depends in what context you are putting it. Mostly is today ''loyality'' renamed, rebranded wish for ownership,..deep topic,..if you put all those positive values together, if you really manage to bring all of them in ''total'' harmony, the result of this we call: unconditional love, enlightenment, total peace, nirvana, samadhi,..many names,...

Hmm, I don't know, I agree with you that forgiveness seems to be one of the highest,...we are many times big judges (knowingly or subconsciously), and by far the biggest judges we seems to be to ourselves, we like to beat ourselves up, feel not good enough,..

Not sure I agree with your list of virtues.... Empathy and Kindness and even forgiveness.... both seem to me like a function and part of compassion.

I would use honour instead of loyalty. Honour is keeping your word.... keeping your promises.... being trustworthy and loyal.

Also any virtue can be to a fault. A totally honest person..... who is 100% honest all the time.... is a bad friend. You can never trust them with a secret.... and they tell your children that their drawings are shit.

Compassion is a wonderful thing..... but it can make you forgive those who do not deserve forgiveness.... accept things you should not accept.

Honour is beautiful.... but it can allow you to accept mistreatment at the hands of others. Loyalty is vital.... but should not be unthinking.

You miss out valour.... which is not bravery but standing up when you see something is wrong and trying to do something about it.

If I had to pick from these...then i pick...Empathy...but...what Mistress Mina says is right...

On empathy...If you can feel how what you say or do affects others...and in general empathise with others...that informs your choice on all the others surely. If you can feel how embodying those other virtues might affect another...then surely you'd choose to embody them...appropriately.
