chronic crashing

Since the update I am crashing several times a day. and these crashes aren't when the red box comes up.Everything looks normal except it seems like conversations stop and unless I try to hug my girlfriend I don't know I have crashed. I have don multiple UN-installs and re-installs including deleteing the 3dx folder in registry editor. If anyone has any ideas I am open to them because this is getting ridiculous.I also have set all of my settings to the lowest possible settings but still several crashes a day. someone please help!

Hi,

apologies if this is not the right place to post but I think it is.  I have not been getting a frozen screen but my laptop will just shut down after a few minutes of roaming, especially if I do a couple of screenshots; no freezing, no warning, no blue screen of death, just a complete turn off.  It' did it very rarely prior to 2.0, reasonably consistently on 2.0 and very frequently (i.e within a few minutes or less) on 2.5

it's a few years old ACER Aspire 5755G, but it has:

i7-2630QM CPU running at 2.00GHz

8GB Ram

64 Bit

Graphics card is a GeForce GT 540M with 2.0GB

Should that spec be OK?  I'm not really that hardware savvy.  I am thinking about buying a new laptop, just don't want to rush if there could be another reason for it.

Thanks in advance

Had same problem, was trying various things, Installing, uninstalling, reinstalling drivers, cleaning registry, checking if it's not my hardware that is faulty but only thing that helped me out was formatting my hdd. When i was contacting support i was getting vague responds about reinstalling game.
