U-E
Here's a new one (perhaps) I have bought another pc on win 10 along with a line vision gaming tablet also on win 10. I've not set them up yet, and I assume streaming with the tablet is just for xbox one and pc steam games, but, has anyone tried to stream 3dx via this set up before? Cordelia
Ohhh Linx Sorry, I had to google it and I don't have a clue really except... I use TeamViewer to play 3dxchat on my Acer android tablet at my home desktop system when I am away from it. I would guess, as the Linx is Win10 based, it will be even easier, if you can load TeamViewer onto it (and googling implies you can).
U-E
Ow that's a good bit of info, thank you Yes its a fairly potent win 10 home edition tablet with the controllers, so it can run some games on its own, but streams them far far better. I figured being able to stream steam (I had such a fight with auto correct to write that lol) would mean being able to somehow stream other non steam games as well with a trick app. Teamveiwer will be it Thank you! violetvv
If you have an Nvidia card, it doesn't have to be that recent, mine isn't, you can try Moonlight Streaming (http://moonlight-stream.com/). I use it to stream to a chromebook, works pretty well, except touchpad, so unsure how other touch things, like screens, would work.
AlexRyder
@Cordelia, wait, does the camera rotation work in TeamViewer? It's kinda not supposed to since Input.GetAxis(...) function requires listening for hardware mouse, and when desktop sharing it is software emulated. U-E
Thanks for the input Once I've got things streaming from the said pc to the tablet, I'll work on controls. This linx vision I picked up has the Xbox one type controllers mounted on the sides, but odds of being able to configure them to work better than a touch screen is unlikely. But it does benefit from USB ports and Bluetooth so perhaps I can get a mouse to run on it?
Cordelia
Alex... no, I haven't been able to get camera rotate to work but I can usually manage by using the cam modes (and wasd). I thought it was just my full lack of understanding of how TeamViewer controls work, I guess you are right though. It is a small problem compared to the one that usually comes up with me, that is I somehow invoke a zoom in and can't revert back so the top and bottom border (and consequently most menus) are not visible, I have to restart 3DXChat. Again, it might just be my lack of a full understanding of TeamViewer controls.
AlexRyder
@Cordelia, that's a Unity thing. Though it can be fixed by creating a fairly simple custom mouse tracker that utilizes desktop mouse position Not sure I understand the zoom problem though. Nymphpott
Splashtop HD works very well to. Very easy and user friendly controls. Can even switch between multiple monitor setups and stuff. Works great for phones and tablets running Android, OSX and Windows. Controls can be a tad wonky and hard to get used to if your tablet does not have a dock with track pad. Easy way around this is to just hook up a cheap blue tooth mouse. * on a side note. My 4 year old Asus Transformer book with windows 10 plays 3dxchat just fine on low. Intel grafix. 2 gigs of ram, Quad core atom processor. Sucks the juice battery down fast though. Streaming tends to be a bit less abusive to the poor tablet for heat and battery usage. You run into the same control problems as you would streaming. It can be a bit tedious to be pinching the screen to zoom and using multiple fingers to rotate camera. It is doable without a mouse but can be frustrating some times. I find myself clicking through menu's and walking into walls and all over the place a lot with when streaming.
