Bad picture - good hardware

HornyHole

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I have very good hardware (AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1080 Phantom GLH, Windows 10) but in my opinion the game is not running good.

The settings are maxed out but if I look to some screenshots of others they look always a bit better.

Are there some hidden configurations or what can I do?

regards

HH

Of course!

Will make them later.

I think especially the details and shadows are not perfect.

I also checked with Super-Sampling.

The main-monitor is an Asus PG279Q so also not very bad.

The only special thing is that I often play in window-mode with 1680x1050 on the WQHD Display (2560x1440) or one of the side displays 27" Asus with Full-HD (1920x1080).

Of course the colours are not as good as on the main-monitor but the rest is the same.

3. 3620 x 2036 at main monitor (original is 2560 x 1440 but I have not difference)

I think especially the shadows at the back of the character on the 1st picture are not good. Looks like steps.

I just checked the pictures on my phone at least and i dont see a big difference to my game graphics.

It could be my phone since the display is small, but it really looks the same. Also, the shadow steps happen to me too.

You could try and link the pictures you think that look different?

Best example are the screens from the developers.

Also this from the patch 362 announcement look much better.

Large part of that is where you take pictures and where you place light sources, some areas have better lighting than others, while devs may also done some editing on picture i highly doubt ones in 362 thread i heavily edited by looks of it. That said you will see profiles with picture galleries including my own that been cut and edited before being uploaded there. Also one thing i would suggest you do is change the Antialising to temporal SMAA if it's not on that think personally it heavily improve avatar quality.

Can share my settings if you wish to play around with it see if it helps. Also just to show what i mean with Photo edited this is one my photo edited pictures too

There are "hidden configurations" you can do with an external programs like "ReShade" but it requires a bit of configuration and stuff. There's a guide for it made by OoPaulaoO underneath.

http://3dxforum.com/index.php?/topic/4066-reshade-version-304-was-released-on-november-1st-2016/

I personally use ReShade cause the bland colors of the game were simply so meh x.x Everything looks washed up in 2.0. Also I think some of those screenshots are from the old version of 3DXChat.

And about the shadows, it seems that different zones have it differently, I don't think there's much you can do it when the shadows are pixelated and stuff :S

original pictures from the developer wore taken on 1.0 version, we are now in unity 5 engine, so it's 2.0

soooooo...there is nothing wrong with 3DX, it's the game engine - unity 5 :3

i did some adjustments in Nvidia control panel for 3D settings, cranked up everything up, and i think it looks better :3

But I will check yours.

-> Checked but changes nothing as less "beauty". :)

Here is what I mean with the shadows:

That said we can agree shadow in version 2.0 is general not great and really bad some places here. Reported it too somewhere here on forum as far as i recall a short while back. Guess you can tell from picture what i am talking about?

I also tested more yesterday and the biggest problem are the additional shadows.

But without them the char has no shadows and this also looks not good. :(

@Skydiver

Can you post the changes in nVidia settings?

I also changed something here but no difference...

I also have a GTX 1080 and I also get steps on shadows from some angles. I am not sure if it is a Unity bug or a game bug or a technical decision so more systems can run Extremely High. It is a bit annoying when you have a graphics card as expensive as your average PC and you get steps in shadows!

I know I am not going to get much sympathy as it appears I have more money than sense, but yeah, first world problems :P
