Virus or bad DL

One thing people often forget as well. Questionable browsing ie clicking unknown links, opening images, etc can lead to viruses. whether the virus shows up upon infection or a bit later that's just how things happen. Though many users will attribute this action, this virus, to the last software they downloaded. Now if there's a actual file in the program Norton is warning of. I will say one thing, or many .. I suggest using something else (on a personal note Norton is not as good of a AV as it claims, not to mention its a fairly clunky piece of software). A little unknown to most users is the website http://www.av-comparatives.org/. Which is a group dedicated to testing antivirus programs and reporting their statistics to consumers. It is specifically unbiased and gives actual reports of current standards, behaviors, etc of the more popular antivirus programs.

Various tests, and reports can be viewed over the years for this group. 2004-2014 to be exact. 10 years of reporting about antivirus software.

A good thing to know, and I mean this for any antivirus. Any polish, any shine, any gimmick, or oddly price (some think a price makes them better even), doesn't always mean you are getting and/or have the best antivirus. It is good to examine and consider all the ones out there. Which the aforementioned website helps everyone become a smarter consumer. I love smarter consumers <3 Another mistake people make is having more than one antivirus installed. Because they think this increases their security. Having more than one antivirus installed can severely cripple a users computer. I'd suggest against such actions. You should instead just stick to one. Yes I know just one. Don't be sad -pats-

Here's a semi-funny note: A friend of mine was running 4 antivirus programs with realtime shields. Her computer was constantly locking up, freezing, crashing. She asked me to fix it. And all I had to do was remove all that excess bloat. And clean up a few things. And her computer started being happy again. (Not unlike my old computer where I had asked a friend to turn it off, he just unplugged it ..... while running ....)
