robo Posted October 19, 2015 Share Posted October 19, 2015 I have not been on much these days, but thankgodd for 3dxchat I'm back..lol..so lock up your daughters and wives because my crazy ass is here once again .lol. It will soon be winter here once again and time to hibernate and spend many warm wild days and nights on 3dxchat..BUT ONE THING!! I have noticed is the sad lack of local chat in places, Clubs like Sinn, and virtually across the bored..I mean come on people get it together, it is suppose to be a social, sex, fantasy game, full of all kinds of crazy stuff and shananigans,lol but it seems that has changed..I remember going into Sinn, when I was the tame one, there was all kinds of chat, wild local cheering, naked hooligans and so on, now I go in there, and have to talk to myself for twenty mins, in a half full room before finally someone else gets involved..lol..wtf is that..Wow and even in rooms,I was in a room, with I think, I counted over 25 peeps, and no one chatting, and I mean no one. .lol...finally after, throwing fireworks, stripping and random half naked hugs with strangers..lol..I finally got another person to join in, she was horrified by the quietness as well. We wondered even why there is not even any fucking going on, atleast that would explain no one chatting back...lol...And nothing. .We finally decided in local chat, to start atleast some sex so we did it for a short time, then sort of really got a little wild, so we just ended up going to her place and having some crazy wild virtual interactive sex.. lol...So yea no local chat but at least my efforts paid off for us, albeit eventually in private. .Anyway, if anyone wants to expand on my view of no local chat these days, and thier concern and experiences with, no local chat, nothingness, and seeming like someone slipped something in your drink and you woke up in the damn twilight Zone...lol...please feel free...thanks...ROBO. There is this strange philosophy that every other person in the game wants to deceive, lie and manipulate you, so people are to paranoid to even talk outside their circle of friends.5. Some crazy dominatrix with a sewing fetish got loose in 3dxchat and sewed everyone's mouth shut. 6. People think everyone is actually a bot and never realized its a online game with real online players because no one ever talked to them. 7. Shy people infiltrated the game from Antisocialnoobs.com8. Maybe everyone is talking a shitload but they have me and you on ignore? lol9. Silence is the new fad and people who talk are losers! 10. The crickets and footsteps are soothing to the ears. TashaTight Posted October 19, 2015 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Another option adding pm to friend list options might also contributed to many just hanging out with friends, then occasionally adding new friends as they PM them and they hit it off together. Much like how it was in second life. Second life also had a great deal of newbie snobbery, that there were some unwritten rules/qualities you as newcomer had to learn/acquire in order to be given the time of day. Imagine that is start to eventually come here too if it has not already, meaning that most new people would need to learn and adapt fast or be given a cold shoulder. Think this might largely be due to few individuals which made really bad impressions on behalf of majority of the rest, so that finger is closer to the ignore button than a smile. Its a bit sad bit i think its adding to a cold climate where its hard to socialize, creating a bit of a bad circle as many new people who don't know these unwritten rules would probably a lot them feel unwelcome. In return once they earn their place feed on the problem by saying they had it tough so other newcomers have to eat through the tough love too, in order to find the green pastures. Sadly this is often been the disease of places like second life, but also lots of mmorpgs and various other online social products. No doubt its making its way slowly here too.. Indeed, the local chat is a lot more quiet in places like Sin Club and such, I am unsure why... But it's not all doom and gloom, I was DJing in the Night Club last night and lots of people were talking, having a laugh, both old and new players. Also it does seem not many talk, I know there is a lot of new players joined recently... Maybe they are too shy to talk at first, some may take longer to come out of their shell than others perhaps? From what KimmyFox has said, I don't think their is any unspoken rules from what I gather and if it had become there was unspoken rules we'd shatter them. All are welcome, to talk, laugh, dance, fuck etc... I just think because a lot of new players have joined, they are just a bit shy I think. MarMohan Posted October 19, 2015 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Well to be honest, most are in group chats with those they know, new people because of no one really talking aren't sure what to do or maybe they're just watching or it's an alt avi. It seems to have died down since I had started back in March others have noticed as well. You can be in a public room and feel like you're the only one there, it's that dead in Local even with 20 people in the room, I mean after all it's a sex and chat site. There are more User rooms that are open and the influx seems to go to them as it's friends/groups that hang out together. Maybe with the winter weather coming for some, there may be more people but I don't think as much. Summer is coming for others which most will be out and enjoying the weather.No one knows what the future holds, you never know what can happen. There are one for instance is its for most common understanding that you don't cold invite (for those not familiar with the term means, then its inviting you into social interactions like partnering, dances or friends without prior initiating in dialogue first). Then from majority i meet at least its a strong dislike and most cases earn either a temporary or permanent ignore from a player. Then i am sure there some which might be more debatable to what extend they exist, things like expectation your profiles at least say some bout yourself or your avatar, that i imagine a few but that's just my guessing expect you to change avatar a bit from the default and so forth. EDIT: Think a lot expect newcomers to know or find these things out very fast or they get frozen out a lot the times, not really sure if its something that can be done something bout. Guess one idea at least for newcomers might be to introduce them to the term cold invite during their tutorials so they at least don't have to learn it as brutally as some do. Ashbash Posted October 19, 2015 Share Posted October 19, 2015 That's true Kimmy, cold inviting is frowned up on here, I guess it is similar to RL you wouldn't just go up to someone you've never met before and ask them for sex or invite them. ^^ You'd probably get arrested for harrassment. xD But yeah in all seriousness, I do think some new comers are a bit too shy though as well, but I have seen some newcomers write in the world that they are new and are warmly greeted into the community and then they make friends. I guess talking in the public chats can help you make friends for definite, but as you say, many are in PMs that are with their already made friends and don't really expand their social circle outside of their friend circle they already have. ^^ Also winter is setting in, in the EU, Middle East and America regions, so that may bring more people back to the game or bring a lot of new social able people to the game, as summer usually is a more quiet time as everyone is out in RL enjoying the warm weather while it lasts! But, also, I have several friends who gave up waiting for new stuff and decided to move on until something "interesting" is added. If you have access to your friends through other routes, not as much incentive to "pay to stay" if you're not happy. Had one come back just because her online streaming service is active for 1 more month and didn't want to waste it, but plans to leave once the month is over. Mmmm, well, I might suprise a few or maybe it just because I am an old geezer that remember when the game used to be much more quiet, but the game doesn't seen that quiet to me. I have seen on this forum many topic been created about this perticular topic, "Why is local chat so quiet ?" and I think most of them got deleted at one point because of the trolling. I think there a few factor that been influencing the game and ourself in the case of local chat. 1. Personal perception and nostalgia : I have seen it countless time in 3dxchat, a player that been in the game around 6 months saying that it wasn't the same when he started or back when he joined the game. This point is very subjective but I think it important to take into account when you come to a point about the game. I think that our personal perception can influence how we percepve and judge interaction in game. 2. The Private Room : One major feature that was brought by 3DXchat that had an impact on social interaction is the opening of the private houses. Before that feature was in game, if you wanted to have a group party somewhere, you needed to be in one of the public area in the game. Now and day, everyone can have there little priviate in there house and have plenty of local chating without anyone noticing. I do like that the open house for planning party and open club and such, but it does have a impact on the game dynamic. 3. Group Chat : i don't think this one got a very major impact, but still it does remove the need to chat with a few of your friend throught the local chat. We used to have group of friend staying at the beach or other area and chatting openly back then. I think it might happen less often because of this feature. 4. Player Cum and Go : This is no secret that not all players stick to 3dxchat as longer then others. First, I think must people that join 3dxchat usually go throught a phase where they seek sex and indulge the primary reason they juoined the game in the first place and then after a while, they often stick for other reason and one of them is socialising. I could count more then a handful of players that could set a flame the local that I really enjoyed knowing and sometime you just need one of those to awake the local beast. But a game like 3dxchat can only keep you interested for so long and quite a bit of players move on and it normal. No amount of feature, clothing and poses can keep someone in the game forever. Yes, I know the game is addictive and I won't argue with that. 5. People are not there for your entertainement : I heard that a lot of time. Why are you guy so boring ? It too quiet here ? Well, the thing is that there big chance that 1/4 of the people in the room are AFK, 1/2 are in PM of all sort and the last 1/2 are probably having sex throught PM and you don't even know about it. My point is that people are not in the game to entertained you or anyone. I usually keep most of my interaction in PM and I got only a few at the time. All I can recommand only that the person that find the chat too quiet can try to start a conversation and yes, it frustrating when nobody seen to care. But it like jokes, there hits and misses. Can't have it right everytime. 6. Seasonal players : Well, they do exist but I don't think it really a major factor in that case. I know we might get a little more players returning around christmas but not enough to change local chat activities. 7. The game got much bigger : Ok, this one is clearly because I am a old fart. Well, I think the game expend a lot from back then I joined in 2013 and back then the dynamic was very different. There was a point where I pretty much knew everyone in game and I guess there alt too. lol And it made it easy to just pop in local and have a chat with the people in the room, but that was back when it was a big day if we had 60 players online. The community felt more like a big disfonctional family. Now... when I log in the game, I can clearly see the difference now, there no way I could actually get to know everyone and there alts. It make it I guess much harder to jump in the conversation and start something when most of the players in the room seen to be strangers. I think it really good that the game grow compare to what it was before. Ok, I am sure I could come out with even more point, but I guess it 2:00 am here and I should get some sleep. I've been here a long time now, and it strikes me there's always been sometimes that a room is quiet and sometimes that a room is buzzing. It all depends on who is in the room livening it up and getting the shy ones out of their shell. But yeah, Skar pretty much nails it on the head with all his points, I don't think people are quiet for the majority, I do find it ironic and coincidental in the past when some people who had complained about chat being quiet, were being quiet themselves and not trying to spark up a conversation with local or world for example. Myself I try to say hello to many, if they say hi, or try to keep the chats going, and I know many in game that are the same, maybe you just had bad luck Robo at the time you had logged.
