They have changed the collision points on the tables

Hi guys,

If you are one of the many that make stages and dance floors out of the round tables and have them in your room, don't change them if you still want them there without big holes.

For some reason in the last update they changed the collision settings on them, so if you try to do that now you will find you can no longer overlap the tables and make a raised floor without holes.

I have to wonder why they would do that, especially when so many were asking for better things to make dance floors and stages from.

Seems to me they are against us turning our rooms into clubs.

Yuhhh, my poor room was torn to pieces by this new update, simply by going to customize apartment.

Stages destroy, haven't the heart to work on it since I literally just finished my room before the update and then bam, all my work obliterated.

Yep, I went in to give things another go after seeing Achilles post about what we have done with our rooms.

When I went to make a stage I found it could no longer be done.

For it to happen they have to have gone into the table item and altered the settings, they have deliberately done it.

For a long time now there have been people asking for better things for us to make dance floors from. that and asking how to put poles on tables.

It has been popular for some time now for people to make clubs in their rooms with dance floors made form round tables.

The only reason I can think of for them to do this and not give us anything to make stages and dance floors from in the last update, is that they do not want us doing that.

If you do go to customize apartment, and see a lot of red, you can just close the game (Alt+f4) right on the spot to prevent any damage.

It'll only save if you leave the apartment by going elsewhere.

Rochi, it is not that she is having and editing problem, she had a dance floor made from round tables and deleted it to alter her room.

Now you can no longer make dance floors from tables without huge big holes where the tables will no longer overlap so those holes aren't there.

If you have a dance floor already it will stay the same, but if you delete it you wont be able to make it again.

Hmm, I made the mistake of going into my room in edit mode, all the tables were red, so I didn't touch anything and went out.

I now see what you mean Rochi, you need to do the f4 thing or you loose everything.

Room gone and I am no longer interested in building it up again, especially as we can no longer do the dance floor thing.

There is lots of people know how much work I put into that room.

The devs can shove 3DX, I will not be re subscribing.

The new update has also hit me hard. I lost my catwalk outside the balcony and first, I did not recognised it. It was to late to leave the editor. My sky catwalk is gone forever **cry**.

I know that it was some kind of hack to miss use the round table as a dance floor, but we had no other possibility to do so. The bounding box of the table was bad, thats right, and the flicker of the plugged in tables were bad to (really bad and annoying) but, would it be such a big problem to give us a square table in two different hight to build up a dance floor? If you remove a possibility to do something, you should always have an alternative. Communicate with your user base. It isn't that hard to satisfy us.

I feel they did this deliberately, they did not give us anything in the update to allow us to do things that were proving popular with our rooms.

They want us going in NC and SIN so the numbers are up in there and making it look like the place is more successful than it is.

I see your point, and what I would love to see is a bunch of different size/re-sizeable rectangles and stuff for building the simplest stuff like walls, stairs etc :(

Also I don't understand why they gotta limit us in the positioning of items, what would be the harm in letting us choose the altitude our items are on instead of locking it to one level?

I suppose the current system doesn't quite support any of that though :c

Ah wait....I see what they did?...they're going to give us more tables and furniture soon and we'll be able to make the perfect stage...with tesselation and all that schizzle...but because we'll bitch about it anyway they took what we had away so we appreciate it more right? ;)

Tricksy 3dx ;)

The main stage of the Blue Note got nuked by my first trip to the editor as well. I did succeed in doing a redesign which involved a slightly different stage shape and a few well placed beer caddies to fill the gaps. I had some of my more nimble dancer friends try it out before reopening and it seems to be alright. In the end though, it was a workaround and it gets me by, even though it's not the look I wanted.

If the Devs do actually have any sense of what we do with our private environments, they would be wise to respect that, or at least give us fair warning and a reasonable answer as to why we have to lose one of the most frequently used customizations in the game. I'm not going to do anything as dramatic as pick up my virtual ball and leave forever (there are too many other important aspects to this game for me) but I do think we can make our feelings better known to the developers, and convince them to support the tools we use to make the game more fun. At the very least, enough negative voices should convince them they made a bad move.
