If it is not a priority then remove it so we can get on with what we need to, especially referring to the HOME EDITOR TUTORIAL... it's a pain in the... u know where.. don't just ask us to live with it or wait for it to bug out.. either fix it or get rid of it.. thank you

What bug is it you are faced with in the tutorial Chrome, just so the developers can see specifically where the tutorial is broken so they can look into it for a fix.

Kind Regards

Ash

I believe many have raised this and it still isn't fixed. Its where we get "stuck" with the tutorial window, that won't let us proceed even after we complete the task of rotating an object in the room. and this is a hindrance  and an annoying thing cause it wont disappear when we are in home edit mode. and it is there every time we go into home editor mode.

Okay great! The Developers should see this when they log on later and see the exact issue in the Tutorial that is bugged, so hopefully a fix will be rolled out soon for you and many others who are experiencing this issue!

P.S. The developers are usually fast on bug reports when they know the exact problem. :)

Kind Regards

Ash

This issue has existed for almost a year now.

One of my friend's solution for this, was to :

  • Open Registry Editor
  • Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/SexGameDevil/
  • Delete tutorial-home Double click tutorial-home and change value from 0 to 1

I'm not 100% sure tho, and cannot find the topic she wrote this solution in.

Thank you Shanti.. that's a nice name.. exotic... means inner peace or something to that effect... :)..

Well, not everyone is able to do that. and i understand that if we made a mistake in the registry, it will turn out awful. Hence the need to fix the bug... It's been over a year and no one has done anything about it? I thought Ash said that bugs like this were a priority on the developers' list.

If it is gonna take another year to fix, then why not just disable it and just present a set of instructions. It's nice to have an interactive tutorial, if it works the way it is intended to. I am sure everyone will agree. I wanna be able to decorate my rooms, but it's terribly difficult.. i cant even click the spots i want to move my avatar to...

Thank you, Ash, Shanti... appreciate your inputs in this.

Thanks for raising this Chrome. Yes, I find it extremely annoying, particularly as it virtually covers up the accept button for the 300 gold when I log on and I don't want to risk losing that ;) There should be an easier way of dispensing with it than having to modify the registry.

Was told many times , but there is no bug with the object rotation in tutorial . you just need to rotate the item untill the game say its ok ( rotating 45° in a way then 45° in the other way is not enough . You need to rotate the item 360° )

well it may have worked for u leeloo.. but i tried all that and more..rotating both ways, 360, 180, 720, and all mire that i cud try.. just still doesn't work. It's a bug that needs to be fixed. I am not the only one who is experiencing it and it seems this has been there for about a year..

It's strange tho, it seems every game acts differently.

Or does it come from different settings from macbook and stuff (just speculating) ?

I just resetted the tutorial to do it again and it works fine. A single right click to select object, followed by a slight move towards left or right, validates the rotation. Then right click again to put down object.

But I agree, there should be an easy option to disable the tutorial for those having issues to complete it.

Oh, Chrome, do you use a laptop?

I have just discovered that it is only my laptop where the tutorial remains displayed in Home Editor, despite rotating an object. My desktop system is fine.

Perhaps there is some subtle difference between using a pad and a mouse?

The basic tutorial that comes up when you log on is still annoying though.

Hi Cordelia.. thank you for your input.. btw, love your comic strips... made me laugh.. needed it very much

I am using a desktop.. and am not a novice user.. and nothing works.. i have tried and tried... perhaps there is some magical spell that is needed to get thru that tutorial.. or may be it is intelligent and is selective about who it lets pass thru...

I seem to note much interest in this topic, as i always note somebody reading this.. looking for a solution perhaps? I think it will be good if everyone who has an issue with the tutorial would post a line or two about it.. voice it out please...

No, no, you're not. As I said, I have the problem with the room customizing on my laptop and the basic tutorial is really, really annoying showing up every time I log in and obscuring my 300 gold points acceptance button. Frankly, they should make all the tutorials only display upon request.

Agree with you.. should be upon request. But its only the two of us experiencing this bug now. Others don't seem to care or mind. Wonder how that is gonna affect priority on fixing it... LeeLoo already said it's not a bug and that the problem is with us. If that is the developers standing, then we are screwed. Have to live with it for the rest of our lives in this game.

I remember asking about this on world chat, and i received a number of responses. I thank them all for sharing methods they used to overcome this BUG.

From the responses i could see that there were many more who experienced the same issue with the HOME EDITOR TUTORIAL. Most said let it be and it will go away at some point. While others recommended  editing the registry. One person even said i should turn the object 180 degrees left and then back to original position, and then turn it the other way 180 degrees. Needless to say, i tried that and even more, It worked for him, but didn't for me. There were more suggestions, can't remember them all.

Is that not a bug that needs to be fixed? Is someone doing something about it? Or are we supposed to "let it and it will go at some point"? Like i said in the beginning, if it can't be fixed, then disable it. If it's gonna take too long to fix it, then disable it. If it is not a priority amongst the tonne of other stuff you are now engaged with, then just disable it.

Thank you.

  • 3 weeks later...

There's a different bug in my tutorial: When the tutorial asks me to go to a club for the next round out instructions, the instructions don't appear anymore. Is that how the tutorial is intended to work (because that's a very abrupt end to the tutorial)?
