Tanyatranny
Hi there, I just patched 3dxchat and now it no longer starts up correctly. I can start the game and then enter my user name and password but after that it never boots to the character select screen and it stays stuck on the loading screen. Anyone have the same experience? Any ideas on how I can fix this? It worked fine up till an hour ago...

Guest Eddster
Hey Tanya, usually the "go-to" fix when you run into a patching issue is to completely uninstall the game. Remove it from your registry and reinstall with the new client that Giz usually tosses up. Sorry I can't be more help.
Tanyatranny
Followed the usual procedure of deleting everything from Sexgamedevil in the registry, removing and reinstalling the game. Still no luck... Damn.
Guest Eddster
Ugh, bummer. Hmmm, did you try to run the install/client as administrator?
Rochi
I had this issue after windows updates screwed up and broke my DirectX xP but most games wouldn't start wasn't just 3DXChat
Tanyatranny
I usually run with full admin rights (dumb I know, but I'm running 3dx on a Windows partition on my MacBook)
Ashbash
A fix is coming in Patch 275. You will see the notes shortly.
Tanyatranny
DeletedEmptied configReinstalledConfigured firewall as described 275 didn't help. It must be a local config file that 3xchat uses to manage its connection. If I want to run 3dxchat on my main machine, it just keeps showing the "connecting" window with the purple circle forever. On my crappy laptop it connects fine on the same network. Please help guys I want to keep playing 3dx on my main machine.
Millia
Have you tried turning off firewall and antivirus completely just to see if the problem isnt there? You can try Netlimiter (beta should be free) to see if it does something or just hangs up.
Guest Skar
Any antivirus or security software on your Windows partition ?
Tanyatranny
Apart from Microsoft Security Essentials not really. I'll check with NetLimiter once I'm back from my travels.
Millia
Yeah you should see if there is any date going in or out at all .
Tanyatranny
Found it, forgot to add one of the ports to the firewall exception. Back in the game! Millia
Cordelia
Oh, you resolved it, good.My problem seems to be Malwarebytes anti-virus. It doesn't happen often and only on my laptop but it appears to go into limbo and, when I check, Malwarebytes is the only thing that is using CPU. If I end it with task manager, 3DXChat resumes. Tanyatranny
GODDAMMIT. Now it's back. Patched to the latest version and now it's stuck eternally loading between the login and the character selection screen again. Deleting and recreating my firewall rules does not help. This is getting ridiculous guys...
Nikki
Have you tried just sitting and waiting before the frozen screen? For me it freezes up after almost every patch... but if I give it time and dont touch anything (even when Windows is moaning about the program not reacting) it will make a come-back and load up. Give it 2 - 5 Minutes. If it doesent come out of stuck well yeah... then I dont know, but usually it does.
Tanyatranny
I ended up uninstalling the game, deleting the directory, deleting the registry files pointing to it AND recreating my firewall exceptions. Honestly for an erotic roleplaying game that's more of a bother than I'm prepared to go through. Especially if it's going to pop up with every bloody patch they release. Still, working again now. Huzzah...
Rochi
Yes i think it'd be about time to make a proper uninstaller that clears the registries as well x) Tanyatranny
BlueBerryJam
I have the same problem today with the new patch. I did the unnistall/reinstall thing and the game works again. Is not a big deal, but is annoying... Luckily I found this thread, thank you!
